Most of my archieve is already on cd, you can view my catalog to see what ya want, but i'd be HAPPY to provide material for it. I depend badly on the FTP of show shows to keep up to date. | O&A Board Regular Registered: Jul. 00 | I have shows/bits archived from summer 2000 that I will be putting up on ftp as soon as I get shit under control with my server (keep getting this fuckin NIMDA virus). Only problem is I'm limited to 15k upstream, and this piece of shit ISP isn't on a duplex system, so having one upload cripples my downstream. I'll have to have it up just a few hours a day..I'll work out the details soon, let me know if you're interested.

| Psychopath Registered: May. 01 | Using a residential DSL or Cablemodem to host anything can lead to your prompt and permanent loss of service. They monitor your traffic in/out bound for shit like that. Don't say I didn't warn ya. A better Idea might be a private gnutella host - you would put that IP address into your gnutella program, and it would connect you to whatever O&Aers that were online at that moment. Distributed file sharing = more gooder. If there is interest - I'll have the server up by tomorrow morning. EDIT: Server is up - ona.ath.cx:1027 go into whatever gnutella client you use (limewire, bearshare, etc) and set this as one of your autoconnect hosts. You will be automatically connected to anyone else that is online from OA.com. It will work better if that is your ONLY autoconnect host, but you don't have to. | Hanger-On Registered: Sep. 01 | I agree M-ace. I to am having a hard time connecting thru Morpheus/Karaza(wtf its called) or thru limewire. Let us know on the status of that Johnslack. On the other hand, im gonna give Lent's suggestion a try. I DL the Client and the Hub files for Neo-Modus and gonna set it up tonight and see how it goes. Not sure how the how program is set-up, but it would be awesome to have a whole section (Hubs) dedicated to O&A shows. Ill let everyone know tonight if/how/when i get this thing going. | Psychopath Registered: May. 01 | You shouldn't be connected to it - Its a host cache server - so anyone who goes on to it it records their IP while they are online and passes to whoever else signs on... Its like router.limewire.com but only for OA.com people. As soon as you sign off gnutella, it will remove you from the list. So it basically gives your comp a list of everyone else online. It will seem like it doesn't work at the begining - obviously there is no one on it. Just add it to your list..The IP addresses of the servers you are connected to will be everyone else here that is on gnutella at that time...  "Philly: It's Camden - with a bell." - Jim Norton | ||||

Gotta copy these CDs on the new HD so it might be a while before im up 100%. I setting up my recorder (Total Recorder), gonna run some tests on the current show. My current list of Shows is pretty much what Big-M had: March 9, 2001 to Feburary 27, 2002. Im missing pretty much everything after 2/27, if anyone has those shows, i really would like to keep an up-to-date archive. Drop me a line if ya can. It will download stuff from mutiple people with the same file - shared bandwidth = more gooder. unlike an ftp, it isn't limited by server size; you can share whatever the hell you want, and it doesn't take away space from show-related stuff. There is a fserver running almost 24/7. What i do ask is for the board members who do have access to the channel not to post the channel name. Thanx | ||||

| O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | For the Direct Connect users - How do you usually connect, and how do you look for stuff? I usually connect via the "public" icon, and get a list of hubs - but I always end up finding hubs that have nothing but people with full slots. Not to mention when I do a search, it never seems to work (I've been lucky so far doing the hit-and-miss routine). Any quick-tips on how to effectively use it? I mean I think I've got the basics down, but I think I'm missing something - especially in the connect/search areas. Also Impact - I fired off an email to ya.  You can reach me through AIM or email.
