Sorry if it is hard for me to swallow and take his word on no good faith that he doesn't see a penny. Really hard to think that after 2 years of making nothing he is still doing it. And if he is doing it cause he cares so much that even if no money is coming in, then wouldn't it be smarter to listen to people who actually have a clue what they are talking about? The president has advisors and people who go out on the front lines and know what the dime is, steve would much rather not listen and go on word of mouth. Just like he went on word of mouth of the most infamous cum guzzler of the boards. The man banned from oa.com no less than 40 times already. Steve took his word or became tired of listening, whatever the point what little traffic that chat had was enjoyed by people in there. Wether it be 10, 15, or 25. But by not having mods you just gave people like mavric and other problem makers free reign to go in and disrupt things. I am not personally asking nor do I want to be a mod in the chat. But get people who are indifferent to the boards both oa and rf and let them mod it, 3 or 4 people. But do not pretend to know even your site if you do not interact with its users. Plus like I said before enough with the pity party, a web master is a stressful position but you chose it. Try walking in some of our shoes and see how you like it. A time schedule, getting up at 6am, working till the late hours 5 or 6 days a week for actually nothing pretty much. Try that fuckin route then come back to me. Try construction like sean then come back to him, try service like me dealing with close to 500 calls of bitching customers a day plus tons of work i can't even describe, try whatever the fuck opak does for a living which must be damn stressful, lol. But bottom line look in the mirror before you toss your stone. Give the people what they want or they will go elsewhere and this is not just aimed towards you, it's a general statement. Steve & I have built a very good relationship between the two sites and as individuals. I am not going to sit here and watch it get torn down over something like this. Jeff has my utmost appreciation for helping save this site, I have always credited him for that. And while I agree with some of the things you are saying, I disagree with others. But let it lie before this spills across 3 sites and we all suffer for it. Take this obvious rush of energy and focus it onto this site and make our changes and build it back up instead of wasting our time and efforts rehashing the same arguments & issues that won't do anybody any good. | O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | I had a long talk with Jeff, and I am appeased on some issues. FACT 1 : all mods are gone. We didn't know that. It wasn't just us. FACT 2 : Jeff did only email the mods and admin here, not entire site...also had assumed differently. FACT 3 : Many things were said here out of anger, whether right or wrong. Bottomline, we need each other, no matter what we think. I feel from Jeff a desire to bury hatchet and move on, and I agree on this front. If you have personal issues or questions, just ask him. Some have more issues with him than others, but let's agree to put somethings behind us so that we can continue to keep thing copacetic. I personally apologize for insinuating that Jeff had it out for us. And for assuming that he used site mail system to all members. I have discussed why I felt these things, and he has repsonded with his own issues. Bottomline, is we are all in same boat, no matter what we feel, and though we have differing opinions on some issues, we still remain on this boat...for better or worse, it is a simple fact. Here's a tip that will save you alot of grief and time... Don't believe in and depend on anyone but yourself. | ||||

Anyone, including mods, that were a part of STM are automaticly welcome. You said 3 sites that this will wage on but you can make that 5. If I can not speak my mind about this douche bag here, in the infante privacy of BTS, then I will on my own little piece of the web pie. And don't forget OTL either, so that makes 5. Jeff, plain and simple you scumbag, next time you have an issue with me and the way i do things, be true to yourself, which ever self you are that night, and do not sit and have a drink with me. | O&A Board Regular Registered: Aug. 00 | I think we all can agree, even you Froy, that Jeff has done nothing 'technically' but keep this site afloat in it's most primitive state. You can feel indebted to him all you want, but the fact is, other than getting this board online/operational and updating the Cold Fusion Software and changing banner ads, Jeff has done nothing but keep this site from growing technically. He has focused all his energy into other projects... RF.net etc.. I have asked / made numerous suggestions to fix the simplest things to no avail. FTL, I know, has done the same. Others may have as well I am talking 'technical' issues, not personality issues. All of these requests don't even go as far as being declined, but rather they are ignored. Some are so fucking simple to fix or alter/add that it is just a smack in the face to those of us who care enough to look into it and present it to the board administreators. Jeff even promised 2 separate IP tools. One was a banner, and the other was an IP flagging tool. BOTH, on his part, were empty promises. Froy, you are just as guilty as a 'manager, as Jeff is as 'the tech guy'. If you want me to consolidate the suggestions/requests I will. If Jeff can't be bothered, and Vin is too busy to fix them himself, I am sure FTL and I can take a look around and fix them ourselves. That is why I am saying FTL and I can fix them. Fact is, the board has become too much work for some people to post on... 3 pages for the login... slow loading speed equal hang time and double+ posts due to epileptic fits on the mouse (because people feel that the initial click didn't go through... I mean after all, they were probably waiting 5 minutes for it to process!) Thing is, Froy, it is a cause and effect situaution. If you cause people to feel like posting on a message board is more work than umm WORK, then the effect will be that they will not post. But wait, that seems to have been happening already, huh? Bottom Line, you have to give action to get action. You say they won't be ignored, and that the suggestions will just be put on the back burner? The code for this shit isn't just lying around. I have to write it from scratch, and maybe programming for a handful of unappreciative people isn't something that appeals to me right now. Maybe if you people weren't so fucking mean to your members, they wouldn't be signing up under multiple accounts and trying to hack the board. Any of you who felt my contributions were inadequate could have stepped up and done something on your own....learn ASP and re-write it for better performance...find new software...learn Cold Fusion and see if you could possibly streamline it. But no, it's fuck Jeff for not doing it...i want it, i want it now, and that runny piece of dog shit better not smile around me when I drink with him. I did nothing but help. Maveric could have DESTROYED this board, and he didn't. He did the right thing. You don't get show mentions anymore because you are hurtful and spiteful to the fans, that's the bottom line. They may treat people like shit on the air sometimes, but that's not how you treat your members. They are the ones that support your site day in and day out, and when you shit on them, they will give it back to you ten fold. Now there's people out there that know how to hack the board. All three, "too busy with OTL" to give two shits about OA.com... You wonder why the users of the site don't care? Well why should they, if even the guys in charge don't care? If you were working at a company where the CEO was running it into the ground, would you go out of your way to do an extra good job? Fuck no, you'd be searching the want-ads. The mods are in an even worse condition, because we care more about the site than the average poster. But it seems that we don't amount to much more than 10 party balloons tied to three 50-pound weights, trying to keep them afloat in the OA.com lake. Enough of the god damn "I'd like to see YOU do a better job" bullshit. I don't recall being offered the chance to do so. Programming is fucking programming, really. You need to know a few simple things. Basically it's all about how to get shit to do what you want it to. The language itself, commands and such, are just a matter of getting used to for a new language. Has anyone asked us if we have any programming knowledge? Maybe given Slash or myself a copy of some code? See what we could do with it, tweak it to make it better? It's called being fucking pro-active. People do that when they actually care about something. I've read time and time again in BTS, people trying to get shit done, and nothing ever coming of it. It's because all of that was ignored that I've stayed quiet for so long. But then I thought about it, might as well be pro-active. It may not help, I may just be ignored like everyone before me, but at least I fucking tried. At least I showed that I give a crap about this site and what happens to it. Hell, maybe if I'm given the chance to test my programming skills (and yes, I DO have them), I could do some good. Maybe if I get stuck, I could go out and buy the large "Using Cold Fusion 5" book that I'm sure populates Jeff's shelf. Everyone's begging for a change. It's gotta start from the top. Currently the top is too busy with other things. And we all see what the result is.... the users found other shit to do as well. I put up a changes thread, nobody spoke up and said, hey, 'I have some programming knowledge, let's try this.' If you know what you are doing and have practical plans that we can put into use, fine, I'm all ears. I have no knowledge of anyone's programming skills, other than Slash coming to me about a spelling error and Kid's status link. And based just on that you want access to all the code for the board? I'm sorry, but to me that sounded a bit unrealistic, and that isn't meant as an insult. Let's get all of this on the table. You say I don't care, that I have other things on my mind, well you know what I have a 100 things on my mind. Some important, some not so. I love this site, but to say that it requires 100% of my undivided attention is unfair. Just because I own the site does not mean I cannot pursue other ventures, other ventures that will have a much bigger bearing on my future. Does Vin care about this site? Nope. Never really has, never will. Do I care about this site? Yes. It's my life. So instead of questioning me about my loyalty to the site and my willingness to make changes, cut me a little bit of slack, because just like each of you, I love this place unquestioningly, and I can damn well bet you that in the end this site means a lot more to me than it does to anyone else. In the end, I have gotten more headaches and heartaches because of this place, and for very little reward. You can blame me for all the problems here if you want to, but we all know that isn't exactly fair, and it still won't solve anything. So say what you want to, and let's either make the changes that need to me made and be productive, or let's continue to throw negative energy at each other and accomplish nothing.
