O&A Board Regular Registered: Aug. 00	Teh Funney is lost on me. AIM: SmarterChild Write To Me Here I think it all started with the Declaration of Independence -- the idea that we had the inalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. That pursuit is what took America from the revolution to the computer age in 200 years. But the progress has come at a price. The obvious being the people that were exploited to make it possible; the not so obvious being us, the first group of people that were given no obvious frontiers to conquer. We hear stories that about the good old days that don't seem to apply anymore. It's a generation gap that leaves us without role models. But the bright side is that without role models, there are no roles. Maybe that's what the 60s were all about -- getting rid of the roles. But what do we replace them with? Without any guidance, what do we replace them with? Without any guidance, the choices become overwhelming. Sometimes it just makes everything feel hopeless. So we destroy our bodies in the search of an ideal. Try to salvage relationships that don't work. We feel we must do something, instead of doing something that we feel. It is the prison of self-imposed momentum, and the sad part is that we get used to it. It reminds me of a song I heard the other day. It's called "The Going Nowhere Fast." But the people I have met here have shown me another side of Nowhere. They've pointed out the beautiful irony that stagnation makes it easy to stop and smell the roses, if we just let it. What would we be if we had nothing to rebel against? Well we could finally be ourselves, the first group of people who stopped looking for the answers long enough to appreciate the questions. And all we have to do is to make our own Declaration of Independence. We can embrace the right to life and liberty by simply realizing that happiness exists -- not to pursue, but to accept. After that the only challenge would be to make sure with the rest of our lives that we weren't just another fad. I don't know, it's an idea. What do you think?

O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00	OK... first off, I'd like to apoligize for truly living up to my screen name... It seems that I fucked up the dates of the softball game with a friends wedding. I was under the impression that this wedding was in July, but i received a call from my friend a few moments ago informing me differently. The wedding is at 2:30 in (a town that escapes me at the moment & since I lost the invitation, I won't know until I call him back & find out... Although, I won't be there for the start of the game, I am going to try to swing by the field for a while in between the wedding & reception... I'm not promising that I will be able to attend the softball game this time around, but I will try to get there to play a few innings if it's at all possible.... again, I'm sorry for the short notice, but I would still like to take an active role in the draft & have discussed this with Joey... I will be posting a duplicate of this post in OT so that the regular posters will know what's going on...

O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01	Okay, I have a suggestion for the game. I think that the pitchers should be allowed to bat in this game and we have a 10 man batting order instead of 9. The only reason I say this is because the person who winds up pitching really loses out on the game. First off, not one person I know even wants to pitch (except Moron). They are embarrassed at giving up so many runs so they'd rather not be put in that situation. On top of that then they don't even get a chance to bat. To me that's not fair. O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01	From what I've been told or read Ants In My Pants, Grk, & Suzie are out. I also noticed you didn't have a few people on the list so I think maybe someone should look through the original again and make sure you got everyone. It would really suck if they were overlooked. As for everyone batting, I think that will be too much of a cluster fuck. Just keep it to a 10 man batting order. Don't make me angry. You wouldn't like me when I'm angry.
