| O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | I fully understand that the only reason the world didn't fall into chaos after Hiroshima was because we were the only ones with the keys to Pandoras box. But think on this.. yes.. anyone with the determination can get their hands on a Nuke... and have been able to for a while... but why haven't they used them yet? Can they honestly get the equipment needed to launch such a device? Or would they have to smuggle it in and plant it at a location? And Nuclear war was a major worry when there was someone on the other side of the fence with the potential to respond in kind... Namely The USSR... I severely doubt that ANY group on the other side of this fence has the funding to array anywhere near a quarter of what Russia could have in the cold war's heyday. We have to do more then just damage equipment or buildings or even kill people.This has to be the time we send the ultimate message.A low yield nuclear weapon in an Afganastan desert would be more message then damage!We could kill thousands with 2000 LB. bombs but the effect wouldn't be as big as if we killed NO ONE but dropped a nuke in the desert! Picture the headlines around the world and the second thinking these fuck bag nations would be doing if we actually dropped a nuke.Other UN countries would be pissed but they sure as shit would understand! I think this is about the ONLY time we CAN use a nuke and get away with it! The world knows how pissed we are.This would kill LESS poeople but make a statment that would last for quite a few years.I hate to scare you but I really think this could be an option they are looking at. The first thing that came to my mind today about retaliation was what they did 8 years ago to the WTC and what happened today. what do u think is gonna happen a few years from now if we dont do some MAJOR!!! now granted everyone who is saying that would make us just as bad as them but that's bullshit. we're not doing this so much as revenge but to also try and make sure something even bigger doesn't happen in the near future. Any country who even comes out with statements in support of this, such as a few islamic leaders who did so earlier today, should be taken out. i'm sorry to say but it has to be fucking done. in the gulf war we didnt do the job because hussain was left alive and he's still been giving us fucking problems ever since. if you dont do the job completely, this is never gonna go away. granted there's always gonna be these terrorists groups no matter what happens in the next few days/weeks/months, but we have to do whatever is in our power to not only get revenge for today, but to try and lessen the chances of something like this ever happening again. | ||||

Just by giving authorization to use the nuke is to open a whole new can of worms that we do not want to deal with. It's an extreme measure, something to use when all other resources fai. Unfortunately I think that once we use a nuclear weapon again, we will only be all the more ready and willing to use them in the future. Think about this: If Bin Ladin or whoever is responsible could orchestrate such a tremendous act of terrorism, hijacking 4 different planes and actually getting everything to work for them, dont you think they would have to figure what we might do in return?? What if they are ready for our response with something else. I would never put it past them, these people are capible of anything, as we saw in horror yesterday. This is the reason that I am glad I dont hold the fate of America in my hands, I am not sure what is the right and correct thing to do.
