I wouldn't allow people's actions at board gatherings to have influence on their board status. I would let the members of the board have a voice in the goings on of the board. I would frown upon cliques and people who live their board lives in chat threads, never posting anywhere else. I would not impart my own feeling or opinions on the board. I believe that a certain amount of natural selection would suffice. I would enact a height requirement, sorry grumpy ;) But, as I always say, if if was a "fifth", we'd all be drunk. Just voicing my opinion, which some may say is me talking just to hear myself. And that's fine.

On the topic, I would never want to be 'King', sure it would inflate my ego but what good is a self appointed status? I would rather be elected. There are only 2 things I would change. I would make this place a democracy rather than a dictatorship with mods assigned as generals. I would also allow people to freely speak their minds and let them deal with the consequences in replies, not banning.
