| O&A Board Regular Registered: Sep. 00 | Well, just in case anyone was wondering (which I know you weren't) this works not because your brain can't process the word 'OF', but because of the way we are taught to read. When most people read, they 'hear' the words in their head. Some even say the words to themselves, but most people imagine the sound of each word as they read. The word 'OF' does not have an 'F' sound in it, it has a 'V' sound. So, you say the sentence to yourself, and your brain is keeping track of each time it 'hears' the 'F' sound. That's why most people get only three. Some people are very observant, or just really anal, and recognize the letters they are reading, not just the sounds of the letters, and that's why a few will get more. But then again, maybe we all just like to hear the F sound :)  | ||||
