My father left when i was less than a year old and i never met him he only lives 5 mins away from me but we never met. Except like i said my granny who survived world war 2 in russia none the less. She lost most of her family over 30 people in the family died during the war. But she was the oldest sister and took care of everyone even her mother and she has continued to take care of everyone she can and she is the strongest person i know. As far as music goes i am mostly into classical music as far as mood music when i am happy or sad or pissed. But the Beatles have always been able to clarify and put into words what i can feel at any given moment. I do not neccesarily look to john lennon as someone who inspired me i looked up to him as a great human being and someone who stood by what he believed. | O&A Board Veteran Registered: Feb. 01 | No surprise here, but Springsteen. There is no other artist or person who's work I could better relate to. To say that his music has gotten me through a lot of bad times would be an understatement. He is the reason that I write poetry, and probably the reason I'm still of this earth. In the movie realm, I was always awed by Sean Connery. The first bond movies by Connery were mystical to me. There is fictional character that I'd rather be... and then to read about his life and what he went through to be who he is, it's pure inspiration.  Is my train in vain, has my soul gone to waste Am I just a victim of, a victim of my lost faith | ||||

| O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | Good topic, GS. There are a few people: 1)My grandfather..he served in the Navy in WWII, and just recently passed away, this past February. He served through the whole war. 2)My uncle, who was in the Marines during Vietnam. He still can't(or won't) talk about his experiences over there, only to mention they were pretty bad, some of the battles he lived through.... 3)My Father. He grew up a foster child in the UK, and with the equivalent of a HS diploma, worked his way into a pretty high position of management in his current job. He instilled a strong work ethic in me and my brothers. My two brothers and I have had jobs since we were 12, and though we did not like it at the time, we realize what he was doing now. 4. My older brother. He's also in the USAF, and paved the way for me to get in, gave me advice on a career field, etc. He also encouraged me to get a degree before I came in, which I did. I joined the military to make my uncle & grandfather proud...though I'll probably never experience t he horrors of a WWII or Vietnam, I'm just continuing the tradition of military service,a nd loving every minute of it.  First ever grad from the Newbie Academy: Lord Duvious....now able to fly solo. Currently training Thrillhouse..one slot still open. If you want to be adopted, | ||||

| O&A Board Regular Registered: May. 00 | My mother has really inspired me. I'm going into my 2nd year of college and I'm really amazed at how a single mother of two twin boys could raise us they way we are. She always has and always will push me and my brother to new heights. If it weren't for my mom I wouldn't have had graduated from HS in a public school instead of a "special school", or even go out and get a house on her own in NY after living with my grandmother in NJ for 14 years. I'm so grateful for her. She moves me everyday. For a public hero, I'd choose Martin Luther King, Jr. In the 60's he didn't want to just accept the "status quo" of that era. If he didn't take a stand against the segreationist policies in the 60's then I wouldn't have the opportunities I have today. ...woah after typing that first paragraph I was starting to get a bit teary-eyed.  --Lent, the poster formerly known as Rowelentless-- Ignore the women in the sigpic, I'm a 20 year old guy who just loves teens. | ||||
