| The thing that I don't like about that video is that it's made up of old (and some new) lame gimmicks. Yet it had Kwang in there. I don't get it. Kwang = cool.
Ok anyway, I was impartial to Smackdown, just like I've been impartial to most wrestling lately save for a few incidents. A lot of it has to do with the fact that there is just too much of it on. The split should help out here and also give them room to bring back guys like D-Lo, who I always enjoyed. I wish they would lose the McMahons but that's not going to happen so we have to live with it.
I also love it when people think that they would be able to do a better job than the current bookers ALL THE TIME. Sure, it isn't always the best and something needs to be done but at least they are trying something. You can't just book for yourself and the fellow "elite" wrestling fans. I went to a house show tonight and let me tell you something there are a lot more marks out there than you think. And they were laughing their asses off during the Gunn/Palumbo gay schtick match. (By the way, and I could be wrong here but I believe Too Cool did the gay stuff before Lenny/Lodi) If you threw some Japanese shit out there they would just look at it and walk away.
In closing, anyone who has problems with Stacy's ass and the number of times they show it should just turn off the TV and go get some help.

But there's also this: there are over 5,000 men in this city, who know that being a policeman is an endless, glamourless, thankless job that's gotta be done.
I know it, too, and I'm damn glad to be one of them."

Actually it was during their "Too Much" days, but yes, Joe, you get a cookie. Christopher & Taylor did the ambiguously gay stuff first, but Lodi & Lenny pushed it a bit further over the line (or at least far enough for GLAAD to bitch about it)...although, it was rumored that Too Much were supposed to go through a marriage ceremony on Raw, but the idea was (thankfully) nixed at the last minute.

| Offier Joe Friday Rules!! I liked Kwang too...
But I must comment on a few things

And Val Venis, I hope.

I'm convinced a retarded progeria kid could do a better job than the current WWF bookers. Really, it's that bad.

True, but the number of "marks" attending shows now is much less than the number of "marks" attending shows two years ago. 3000 loud marks bring less money than 12,000 quieter, paying marks. Oh yeah, Too Cool came first.

I'm not asking for puro or anything. Just quality wrestling. Unfortunately, with the WWF, I have to wade through hours of awful entertainment to get to a few minutes of decent sport. It does look, though, like Flair's half of the promotion might be more wrestling based. If so, I'm looking forward to it. <----positive comment?

I guess I need to go on record here, and say that Stacy has a great ass. An awesome ass. But when I watch wrestling, I'm not looking to see asses. An analogy: football has cheerleaders, but they don't play the damn game.
WRESTLING IN 2002! Please?

Yeah, Lenny and Lodi did since the WWF wisely backed out of the Valentine's Day wedding back in 98. I have a feeling that GLAAD would have came calling then, much as they did with the whole Goldust fiasco. Plus, the Too Much (thanks for correcting me here) thing with DOA was pretty scary too.
I think that a major problem for the booking team is coming up with two shows worth of stuff for that many people. If they slow it down then hopefully they can get more creative. They have to have some potential somewhere.
It sort of sucks that all four members of the Radicalz aren't doing squat right now. Unless you count Saturn on Jakked. When they first came in, the wrestling was pretty damn good.
As for your little "mark" attendance comment, it's true wrestling is on a down swing but that's just cyclical. Hopefully, it never reaches WWF 1993 standards (containing the worst Wrestlemania ever).
And, yes you watch for wrestling, but still, it's Stacy's ass!!! You just don't complain about that.

Ah...so THAT explains what happened to the Test/Rock feud...and the RTC...and the Rock/Trish angle...and the Right to Nudity...and the McMahon divorce angle...and I could go on, and on, and on...

You know, I wonder if maybe that's just an excuse to cover for poor creative direction. When wrestling got hot from 96-99, everyone was praising things like the NWO, Austin vs. McMahon, DX, etc. Yet when wrestling cools down, it's just a cycle? Sorry, I don't buy it.
The first big "cool" period for the WWF happened because of weak stories, weak wrestlers, cartoon characters in the ring, and bad PR from the sex and steroid trials. There's no reason for me to believe that it was just a cycle, when there were so many mistakes being made by management and the creative team.
Also during that period, Kevin Nash had a title reign. When you look at ticket sales and PPV buys, he was the LOWEST drawing champion in WWF history. And they bring the guy back? Sorry, I can't write it off as a "downward cycle", there's much more to it than that.

Can't they, like, change WWF Excess into a 2 hour Stacy Keibler ass-fest? No wrestling, no stories, just 2 hours of Stacy ass. I'd watch.

You could, but to save your sanity, you won't, right? Maybe Mr Scherer had the best idea: just smile and nod, and go with the flow...as long as it's flowing in the right direction. :)

I don't like the guy either but that seems like selective memory to me. Sure, he didn't do so well as a champion. That's because they made him pretty damn lame and had NO opponents for him after Michaels. Mabel? Mabel? Come on. But after that he was a major part of the WCW turnaround with the NWO. Does he suck as a wrestler? You're damn right. Should he be a consistent main eventer? No way. But he's a name and can create some interest in the product.
The WWF is just like every other TV show out there, it gets stale after time and needs to be reinvented. No shows really stay fresh for extended runs. The WWF is just like that. They will be back to top form though once they are able to slow it down.

Actually, I think they are trying to find their niche with Terri's nipples. Stacy's ass would be better though. Damn that Test.
