Psychopath Registered: Oct. 01 | Hey, I made it through 4 posts before someone on the O&A board bitched at me. I guess this is part of my "initiation", right fellas? I'm not Sir O. I don't quite know who he is, although I think I've seen him on the RFnet board a few times. And while I'm a big fan of puro, I'm not a puro-head that hates everything WWF and considers everything outside of Japan to be a waste of time. Far from it. I didn't even get that heavy into puro, until this past year, which is when the WWF began to (IMO) sink so far in quality that I HAD to turn to Japan just to get something that was better than average. Which is what I feel the WWF is right now - nothing better than average. And that pisses me off, because we've seen how great they can be, and I just don't see it happening right now. I think the WWF is going through one hell of a bad period right now, with an incredibly sub-standard product, and yeah, I'm gonna bitch about that. I don't *hate* the WWF. And even though I think this Rumble card is a little weak, I'm still going to watch it, and I'll still probably be entertained. As much as I hate the fact that they may give the belt back to Rock (or Flex!), I'm sure it's going to be a good match. The Rumble will probably be good too. But I feel the WWF has tons of problems right now, so of course I'm gonna bitch about them. If I think it's shit, I'm not just going to sit back and accept it. BTW, if you really wanted to insult me, you'd claim that I was trying to be the next Eric Szulczewski. THAT would have stung. "Being a bastard WORKS." --Spider Jerusalem

Hanger-On Registered: Dec. 01 | I have been checking out this board for only a couple of month now, so I'm not sure if I have seen Sir O, Se7en, or Banger say much nice about what the WWF is doing. I was wondering in your almighty opinions what should the WWF do to fix their current situation: Banish the Rock to mid card hell, let the Undertaker go, disposed of tag team wrestling for the time being, just put a gag in Vince McMahons mouth at the booking meetings. Just a few ideas based on what I have read from your posts.

Its a burden on the writers and the quality of the product suffers because of it. WCW was kicking ass and on top of the world, then they introduce Thunder. Then what happens to WCW? Yeah I know they had people in charge who had no clue and ran the business down to hell, but thats beside the point. WWF was kicking ass, they introduce Smackdown, and look how the quality has gone down since the late 90's. But they will never get rid of the show because it brings in ratings which brings in money.

Yes, I know it's hard to beieve, but there are people in this world that get their television feed via one or two aluminum rods sticking out of the rear of their television sets. I think if anything they should have Smackdown highlight the lower-end storylines, but throw in a HHH or Austin apprearance to keep people tuned. This way RAW gets the main storylines, the mid-carders get their time in the spotlight on Smackdown, and the PPV's would give you the best of both worlds. You can reach me through AIM or email. O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | Banger, hopefully, if they do it right, and DO NOT cross promotional lines, that will be accomplished with the promotion split. Granted, there will be two shows, but they will be two DIFFERENT shows instead of two of the same show. IF they do it right. And we all know that's a really big if. Okay, okay, Hybrid too, I hate crybabies. :) Rumble: It's been a while since I've said the WWF put on a good show, but they did tonight. I was entertained fairly well throughout the night, and even the boring match was made kind of interesting (who expected Trish to win, really?)... and probably the best Rumble in years. Maven eliminating Taker?! Who saw THAT coming? Taker was in almost everyone's final four! WHO THE FUCK SAW MISTER PERFECT IN THE FINAL FOUR?! Maven is in a kind of grey area too... he was eliminated by Taker, but Taker had already been eliminated. There have been times in the past where this hasn't mattered, and he would still be considered out - BUT - JR did not call it that way, and we all know that convenient rule bending/changing isn't uncommon... Anyhoo, rare good show. Back to suckitude. Look for the titles to change hands (Tazz & Spike maybe drop to B&C, Trish drop as well) tomorrow night. Come on, we all know that the titles always change on Monday Night Rematch. "Miracles and lucky charms made the girl of my dreams the girl in my arms." - Dr. Frank

Psychopath Registered: Feb. 01 | Sir O, Se7en, FollowThisLogic, others who fit in their "kliq" (hehehehe, they get offendes by that easily), I'd respect and understand your opinions if you weren't mindless sheep who all thought the same. It's almost as if these aren't YOUR opinions, it's your cult's opinions. That's what I get the impression wrestling internet writers are at times: a huge cult. Your opinions are almost all word for word what every "smart" on the internet says. I can read Scott Keith or Dave Metzler and know exactly what Sir O's feelings on a PPV were without knowing him or seeing a post on this board, just for an example. It's the exact same act. And a tired one at that. I'd also tolerate it more if the opinion wasn't the exact same all the time. I've criticized the WWF as having things that suck and events that suck just as much as the next guy, but at least I'm unbiased in that I mix alot of praise in, too. I mean, I agree the product could be better, but it's pretty good as is. I have never for ONE post seen Sir O or Francine Banger or any of you in that "smart" group give the WWF credit for one thing in the year and a half or so I've posted on this board. You can't tell me there hasn't been ONE thing to praise even slightly in that time. You lose credibility in having an unbiased opinion when you do that. It's like a Yankee fan who criticizes every trade or move the Mets make as horrible or a Met fan who does it with the Yankees. After awhile, you just stop listening to them, and if you're an asshole like me, make fun of their idiotic mindset from time to time. Thats all I'm doing to you mindless sheep. That's all! Now, to close off, I want to show two quotes that made me laugh hysterically: quote: Thank you for proving the other point of you people so clearly: You are so godamn arrogant and elitist in your moronic one track close minded mind set on this issue that it is impossible to imagine any of you having a girlfriend (Copyright, Mick Foley) if you get so arrogant over thinking you know how to run a company that makes millions of dollars a year better than the company does. BTW, if you're reading, thanks for the constant use of the girlfriend line when talking about smarts in your books, Mick. and, of course: quote: Nevermind the comical excuse of "Oh I think it sucks NOW, but it's not like I ALWAYS say it sucks, even though I do if you read all my posts!" but the complete irony of saying that last statement without any reasons to back it up after all he just said is an absolutely hysterical peice of comedic brilliance. BTW, Rumble was pretty good, but nothing spectacular. HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLO!

Psychopath Registered: Oct. 01 | I guess some have already written me off as a bitter, cynical smart fan or some sort of Scott Keith wannabe, but regardless of all of that crap, I dug the Rumble last night too. I was right on all but one of my predictions, but that didn't matter. What mattered was that the WWF put on a pretty damn good show. I liked the tag match, I was a bit disappointed that Regal won (although they may hotshot it back to Edge tonight), I could care less about the women's match, I was glad that Vince did the right thing and laid down for the greatest wrestler of ALL TIME, I was praising Jesus that Jericho retained, and I enjoyed the Rumble match itself (I wish they had spread out all of the "A-list" talent a bit more evenly, instead of having most of the "heavy-hitters" in the last half of the Rumble...but hey, HHH won, Perfect caused me to mark-out, and Undertaker got eliminated by Maven, so I was VERY happy). See, I don't *hate* the WWF. I just think that Vince has gotten a bit lazy and complacent since the competition died off, and thus the product has suffered. I think we can all agree that Vince is at his best when he has someone nipping at his heels; it inspires him to rise above and put out the best product that he can. Without someone lighting a fire underneath him, he tends to rest on his laurels. To use the old analogy, he's like Alexander the Great - he has nothing left to conquer. That's part of why I want a 2nd promotion to develop, because it will inspire Vince to new heights. I was wondering in your almighty opinions what should the WWF do to fix their current situation: I could write up a long proposal, but really, would anyone care? In a few simple words, there are 3 things the WWF could do that would make me shut my smart fan mouth up: 1) Have actual WRESTLING matches, instead of the 3 minute sportz entertainment spotfests we get all too often. I'm not saying that every match should be 10 minutes long, but look at the Jan 10 Smackdown from a couple weeks ago. You had two good, long wrestling matches (RVD / Rock v. Jericho / Test, Austin v. Angle), and the show didn't suffer at all because of them. 2) Book / write angles & storylines that are at least somewhat intelligent and not insulting to our intellect. I'll also use the Jan. 10 Smackdown as an example, this time of BAD writing / booking. If they want Booker T / Rikishi to feud, fine, but I personally found the stinkface / vomit shit to be unnecessary. 3) Add some PERMANENT diversity to the upper card. It's pretty apparent that Austin / Rock / HHH / Undertaker will always be in the main event or at least the upper card up until the day they retire. Fine. What I hate is that the WWF seems very unwilling to put anyone else into that upper echelon, at least on a permanent basis, and that's where all of this glass ceiling shit comes from. Angle seems to bounce back and forth from the upper card to the mid card. Same with Jericho. I say, either pick one or the other. If you're going to stick them in the upper card, do it. If not, then put them in the midcard and give them something to do. Don't just use them in the upper card whenever it's convenient, then the next week have them feud with Scotty 2 Hotty. O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | I only have one thing to say to Diamond Dust. We have our opinions because we have seen good wrestling and good sports-entertainment, and good wrestling/good sports-entertainment has not been what the WWF has been producing. The Rumble was good, and Raw was okay. Hey, who knows, they might continue on that trend. We can only hope. But if the billion-dollar company knows how to run without people making suggestions, why have the ratings been dropping over the past two years?
