To the original thread: The Hardcore championship has been a joke since day 1. Anyone who doesn't think so, obviously doesn't remember how it was introduced.

To the big issue here: Regal is a great wrestler. Crowd heat makes no difference, because it's usually not about a guy's charisma anymore - it's about the storyline that was written for him in the back. Given a push DONE PROPERLY (which the WW_ doesn't know how to do anymore), anyone can be a top face. Err, except X-Pac. :-D

For the two first weeks of RAW they did it good with the Hardcore Championship - With the old ECW guys duking it out for it -- but again WW"E" can't be patient, and they have to ruin it - Hopefully they'll see the error of there ways

Definitely a MOTYC, but not MOTY. Still, you need to get it ASAP! Really, really great ring psych, tight matwork and some stiff strikes (not Finlay/Regal level stiff, but what is?). The fans put Regal over well after it's over, which only adds to the match. Smart fans rule!
