The Stones had 6 or 7 great years with Mick Taylor recording their best music. Let it Bleed, Sticky Fingers, Exile on Main St...all incredible albums. The stuff before and after just isn't as good.

The Beatles hit their stride early and they really never did a bad album.

In conclusion, my vote goes to the Who.

Beatles. The Stones were always incredible, but The Beatles are probably the most important and most influential band EVER.

Although the Stones were a blues and rock band that I love to death, the Beatles were more harmonious, influential, and ground-breaking.

Can't choose

They are the Peanut butter & jelly of music. You can't have one without the other. They compliment, they blend. Yummy.

They both borrowed music, inspire music, and have endured.

heyladiladi makes an excellent point... they were both very influential on each other as well... I'd have to say Beatles though...
