Psychopath Registered: Sep. 01 | Yikes. The Yankees threw up a stinker today. But compared to times when the Yankees have been up against the impossible, there is no reason to worry yet. They've overcome bigger defecits than this. They've been beat up worse than this. They've also followed up their tough losses with tough-fought wins. I think after the Seattle 12-3 win in the LCS, the score of the game doesn't indicate their superiority through the series. Pettitte better come through tomorrow, though. NY.

Psychopath Registered: Jun. 01 | Yanks looked very bad tonight. Mussina looked a little to pumped up. The Justice miscatch is just one of those things. The yanks should rebound tonight, I'm not nervous yet. The one thing that worries me is the fact that there starting Verlarde at first and not Tino? Anybody else worried at that?... Psychopath Registered: Sep. 01 | Last year it was Sojo pinch hit in the ninth and ended the Mets season. In game one it was Vizcaino who had everyone saying "Who's that!?" when he broke Mets fans' hearts. Minor players usually find big ways to win games on the Yankees, like Soriano did against Seattle. Paul O'Neil has been bad enough this post-season and to put him up against Randy Johnson would just be unfair. Don't worry, they'll find a way to win it. They always do.

Psychopath Registered: Jun. 01 | Ouch, down 2 games to none. This one hurt, pettitte pitched his heart out and the yankees couldn't get nothing going against that pock faced, redneck, klan member inbred pitcher!!! Yanks backs are against the wall again. Clemens has to come up big in the next game. The yanks need to start swinging the bats or...well I don't even want think that... O&A Board Regular Registered: Aug. 01 | what did i tell ya'll, 2-0 Yankee Stadium, but, I have a feeling the next two won't be as lucky for the D'Backs, other than Schilling & Johnson, nobody is an all-star type pitcher, this is where the D'Backs have to prove everyone wrong

Psychopath Registered: Sep. 01 | quote: and u call yourself a yankees fan? I dont see them as having their backs against the wall. Yes they are down 0-2 so what, like they havent been here before? I have lots of faith in the Yankees. They are headed back to the Stadium. With the rocket on the mound. they are gonna win game 3, the d-backs are gonna get cocky and pitch schilling on short rest in game 4 which they will lose, as well as game 5 with johnson on short rest. So that brings the series to 3-2 yankees with pettite closing it out in game 6 in Arizona. So statements like..."I DONT EVEN WANT TO THINK THAT" comes from a bandwagoner fan. YAnkees in 6 Clemens is our man to turn this around and what the fuck is up with Council? Their should be a rule about people who stand all fucked up at the plate.. What is he reaching for? and STOP swinging that damn bat around befor the ball gets to you, dont u think that distracts the pitcher :) Goddamn chimney sweeper (fox knickname for council) u tool...

Hello! Hello! Diamond Dust! Hello! | posted on 10-29-2001 @ 9:39 AM
Psychopath Registered: Feb. 01 | Uh, Lent, barring a rainout or something, there is NO game Friday. And if there IS because of a rainout at the stadium (I doubt that will happen, cuz I think the weather is suposed to hold up), Game 5 would be Friday, where only the DBACKS could celebrate! Assuming you are a Yankee fan, you are a typical Yankee fan. Ill informed. If you are saying the D-backs will win, then, hey, everybody makes mistakes. Double standard, you say? Hell yes. BTW, Francine, hopefully your prediction is WRONG! Hopefully, the series will be over in 4 or 5 so Arizona can celebrate at Yankee Stadium and they can dance in the Bronx. If I were Randy Johnson, during the celebration, I'd go to Monument Park and pee on the Babe Ruth statue that Clemens wipes his sweat on, but then I sorta hate the Yanks more than him. I don't come off as bitter, do I? HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLO!

O&A Board Regular Registered: Dec. 00 | quote: Randy Johnson will NOT Pitch Game 5. There is no need for him to do so. The main reason why Schilling would be pitching on short rest for Game 4, is so that he can come back again for a Game 7. Whether Johnson starts Game 5 or 6, that will be his last start, and the D-Backs are assured of at least a Game 6, so that is when you shall see Randy Johnson next. It would be a mistake by Brenly to do otherwise.

O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | Bob Brenly has never been accused of being a genius, but i dont think he will use Johnson in game 5 at all. Hell, depending on Game 3, Schilling might be used for game 5 instead. It doesnt matter if the Yanks beat Brian Anderson 11-0, they still have to beat Schilling or Johnson, and it aint gonna happen. I am not stupid enough to rule the yankees out yet, but i can always hope that this is the beginning of the end. Objective 2: Root for Braves to exit from playoffs- COMPLETE Objective 3: Root for the Diamondbacks to win the World Series

Psychopath Registered: Apr. 01 | Ok, so the Yanks are down 2 games to nil. I not worried. This team has beat so much advercity in the past. They should be able to overcome this. Schilling is human, so he might have a bad game sometime befor the end of his career, right? Clemens HAS to come up big tomorrow. That's all we can worry about, game 3.
PeterDragon | posted on 10-29-2001 @ 12:39 PM
O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | Yankees still have to beat either Schilling or Johnson at least once, and possibly twice. Clemens & Hernandez have not looked particularly impressive in this post season, and Mussina threw up a stinker in game one. Series isn't over by a long shot, but you gotta admit there are dark clouds over the Bronx. If anyone could pitch well on 3 days it would be Schilling. He's definitely a throwback pitcher who is willing to throw 140 pitches and get the complete game. (edit - I didn't mean that I thought he would pitch on 3 days rest, only that I thought he could better than some other pitchers) More than anything else, the Yankees can't keep playing bad defense. There team is not the offensive juggernaut to overcome bad defensive or pitching performances. D'backs are not the A's - they have plenty of veterans. If the Yankees win, they will have to earn it. Psychopath Registered: Jun. 01 | okay listen sheet. I'm not gonna argue with a fellow yankee fan. I'm not gonna tell what a big dick you are, I won't allow it to come to that. Do I think the Yankees are out of it? NOT AT ALL!!! Are they in a must win situation? HELL YEAH!! This is Clemens chance to show how much of big game pitcher he is. It's common knowledge that clemens seems to get a little to pumped up and sometimes looses control. If he comes out, keeps himself in check, then Nobody will be able to hit him quote: By the way, Schilling will not pitch game 4 now that the Dbacks are up 2 games. Schilling has never in his career pitched on 3 days rest. If he pitches that game, then he won't be available to pitch game 7. O&A Board Regular Registered: Sep. 00 | Yankees survive, THUHHHHHHHHHHH Yankees survive... And on Halloween we shall find out which is scarier: Schilling on 3 days rest or El Duque, whose first regular season win only came in September For some reason, I also have the urge to inform you that "The Tick is coming", whatever that means... If the Series does go 7 games, it would likely mean Schiling would pitch Game 7 if you follow the pattern... and that would make for another Schilling postseason record: 3 straight complete games, and then that... IF it happens, of course... Go Yanks. "Who made you the comedy police?" - Mike Dinacola GO BUCS

O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | Well, i expected the yanks to win tonight, it isnt that easy getting rid of them. However, they better find their bats tomorrow, when you only get 1 run off of Brian Anderson, especially when they committed 3 errors, there is a problem.
