allow the starters from both teams to come back into the game.
I read this morning that several starters LEFT around the 4th inning. Disgraceful.
Someone (I thinkJohn Heyman of Newsday) spoke to Selig and asked why not have a position player (like Shawn Green) pitch if Padilla couldn't go further. Selig replied that it would have made the game a joke, as if it wasn't already a joke.
Brenly's selection of so many relievers didn't help matters (Mike Remlinger??????), nor did Barry Zito pitching 1/3 of an inning for AL.
2002 Crack Committee Objectives: (modified version)(You gotta try and believe....)
1.Hate the Braves with PASSION and extreme prejudice
1a. Try and go a week without having to punch a wall in frustration after watching the Mets play
2. 90 Wins and somehow get the Mets into playoffs this year
3. All 5 Starters have winning records this year
3a.Have team understand it is OK to get a hit with runners on base.
4. Mets win World Series (after divine intervention) |

| Barry Bonds was not even in the same city by the 5th inning. According to the Post today he was on his way to last night's ESPY's.
