| O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00  | Leetch is not a neccesarily a lock yet. I mean Mike Vernon has won the Smyth but I would not call him a lock yet. Stevens DEFINITELY is. He's done much more than Leetcy could ever dream of. Stevens one of two players to play this long and be a + every year. The other one, Larry Robinson. Stevens' leadership for all the teams he has played for is obviously noted, as Leetch's was terribly questioned. Don't tell me Stevens didn't produce in his career. The guy has one less point than Leetch so far, and has kept up his defensive responsibilities. We all know Leetch is great playing defense. I believe in The Sporting News this week as Stevens the toughest guy in the history of the NHL, beating out Gordie Howe. This coming from a writer that is primarily a Ranger Fan. | O&A Board Regular Registered: Feb. 01 | Cant we all just get along, LOL, but seriously, ill admit defeat, cuz we lost o a very good Rangers team yesterday, even thouhg we all know that if those fights weren't broken up by those pussies in black and whote, the Deivls would have knocked the snot outta the Rangers players and the rest of the Devils team would have been more fired up. But regardless, i give Guy Hebert a lot of credit he played a good game yesterday and won. Thats it, end of story. Spider even though we r both huge Devils fans, let it go man. it was bound to happen sooner or later. Don't worry, next year they'll just start a new streak al over again. hehe. oh and one more thing, I guarantee, if Stevens and Leetch retired right now, Stevens would get into the hall before Leetch. | O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | You're unbelievable. Stevens is DEFINITELY a shoe in for a first ballot no question. Arguably the best All-round defeseman for the last 20 years. Others up there of course are Bourque and others, but Leetch is a joke. | ||||

I dont know why you have such a hard on for Stevens, you make him out to be better than Bobby Orr, hes a solid Career Defensmen, hes a Hall of Fame Defensemen. You can argue all day who's better. The fact is they are two TOTALLY different types of Defensemen. Leetch will not be confused for the Greastest Defensive player of all time, but on the other hand he is one of the Greatest Offensive Defensmen ever to play the game. Stevens is a Great Defensive Defensmen, but he cant put the puck in the ocean. As a Ranger fan I absolutely HATE Scott Stevens, but I respect what he can do, and what he has done for his team, apparently Bob you cant take your Devil glasses off for 2 minututes, because you have to call Brian Leetch a joke, when I guarantee if he played 12 years for your team, you would be praising him. | ||||

(if I was starting a team so I'll give ya 6) Pronger/Blake Leetch/Lidstrom Bourque/Stevens Look I am A NYR fan, but even a biger hockey fan so I can judge all teams talent and talk about it with out NYR glasses.
