Psychopath Registered: Oct. 00 | quote: Get with it Unicron, you jack ass. Ray Bourque is a fucking hockey legend. Best offensive defensmen of all time. It's his time to shine, so why be down on him? The Devils are good, but the better team won. I don't get why you don't like Colorado. Did you ski down a mountain and a tree hit you in the balls or something? What's not to like? You have the Broncos, Avs, and the Rockies. All teams that you can't really hate. And you know what pisses me off the most. The fact that every devil fan thinks that your goalie is good. He faces 8 shots a game and still can't get to many shut outs. The Avs exposed his weakness. They peppered him with shots from everywhere, and he couldn't stop them. One more thing before I go... At the end of the game when they showed a young Ray Bourque, didn't he look like Adam Oats with long hair? Sorry if this little rant is incoherent, I'm just pissed and didn't think before I wrote. Ranger fans are the worst fans in the NHL..ask any other city, and they'll tell you. Christ, Tampa Bay has better fans than the Rangers. Devil fans stay with their team, when we suck or when we win. I'm 19, i've been a fan since i was 1 year old, i remember losing almost every game, but still loving my team, i remember cheering for chico, for alan chevrie, for bob sauve, sean burke, mel bridgemen, lauri baschman, pat verbeek (my childhood favorite), i remember making the playoffs, beating chicago in OT in '88 to edge out, of all theams, the Rangers for the last Patrick division playoff spot, i remember being 6 and watching my Devils getting beat by the Bruins in game 7 of the Wales Confrence finals and crying my lil' eyes out. I remember Matteau, i remember the heartache of that game, scoring with 7.7 seconds to go in the game, going 2OT's, then losing. i remember being in the areana that night, June 24th, 1995, and watching my Devils, the team i had givin my heart to since i was 1, since before i could remember, raise the Stanley Cup over their heads. That feeling will live with me forever. I remember going to a local bar the next morning 'cause one of the players brought it over..and i got to hold the cup over my head. To actually hold the cup, to see, and touch, and experiance something i've read about since i was 4 years old, something i've studied like an old artifact. i knew everything about the stanley cup, and then their i was, holding it, being with the stanley cup, it is an incredable thing. i remember losing the final game the following year to ottawa, if we would have one, we would have made the playoffs, instead, we were going home, a year after we won the cup. i remember my devils going home again at the hands of ottawa, only this time it was the biggest upset in the last 20 years. i remember it happaning again the next year with pittsburgh. i remember coming back in the 2000 ECF fron a 3-1 deficit against philly, and killing lindros, and making philly cry. i remember staying up till 1:30 and then watching my devils lose in 3ot's to dallas at home. i remember staying up till 1:11 andwatching my devils raise the cup again, on opponets ice, and seeing that eventhough their team lost, the dallas fans stayed, and payed respect to thecup, and it's new champions. and of course i remember game 7 of this year..something i want to forget, but won't. i respect the Avalanche, they beat us, and were clearly the more focused and better team. but Mr. Devon...you say the devils have no real fans...you just met one, and their are thousands more just like me...19,040 more just like me

Psychopath Registered: May. 01 | Well, Mr. Unicron, you sure do sound like a real fan, but maybe you should stop badmouthing the Rangers' fans so much and stick to rooting like hell for your Devils. After reading your post, I now have respect for at least one Devils' fan. I've been to many Devils games against the Rangers at Continental, and some of the numbnuts had the audacity to badmouth the great one, Wayne Gretzky, while he was on the ice, and that is one thing that pisses me off. It's not the fact that it was Gretzky, but the fact that he's a legend and these people had no respect for what he's done for the game of hockey. But, whatever, I'm rambling and all I wanted to do was let you know I respect your post and that you are a true fan, which seems hard to find here in Jersey. Oh, and good luck next season and I hope the Rangers get the chance to knock the Devils out once again! RECENT GRADUATE OF THE SLACKJAW SCHOOL OF NEWBIE KNOWLEDGE! THANKS SLACKJAW!

O&A Board Regular Registered: Mar. 01 | i look forward to next season P.S. Gretzky is not well liked in Jersey cause in 1984, after a 13-1 pasting at the hands of the edmonton oilers, he called the devils a "mickey mouse orginazation"...just letting you know

O&A Board Regular Registered: Dec. 00 | Yeah I know who Dionne and Perrault are. Im still not getting your point. First off Adam Foote is a solid defensemen. and what are you saying that Bourque is a "meaningless" member to the team who was useless for Colorado. If you think that then you dont know what your talking about. Sure Ray Bourque isnt the same player he was 20 years ago. That still doesnt take away from his greatness, and it doesnt take away from the fact that he helped this team win the Cup.

Why the fuck do other Devils fans have to bring up the Rangers every time they open their yappers? WHO CARES? Bottom line (sorry Sean), the Devils deserved to lose! They were not the better team, because if they were, they would have won Game 6, and never allowed a Game 7. For all the Devils fans on the board, GET REAL! Stop all the justification, there is none! The Devils did not play well. Brodeur, my favorite player, was awful! Face it! We can only try again next year! Sig pic courtesy of the recently resurrected CBH, one sick F! Psychopath Registered: Oct. 00 | Unimoron, wouldn't you have wanted one of the greatest offensive defenseman to lace up the skates for your team ? The Devils regardless of championships will always be frowned upon in some fashion because they can't even sell out all their play-off games. Money isn't an issue because Bergen County for the majority has a pretty decent median income average...Yourself and Ronny notwithstanding, most Devil fans aren't as true as say Rangers, Islanders, or Bruins fans. quote: Hey Sloatsburgh, check your little hockey facts book, digest, whatever.... wrong ! figure it out. Dionne didn't just play for one(one) ! team. look it up...

O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | Rommel, that's news to me. I was always under the impression that Dionne only wore Purple and Gold. Perreault I'm positive, but I always thought that Dionne was listed as being in the top 5 of players with one team and no championship. (Researched: Drafted by Red Wings, ended career with Rangers) Can't even spell Gilbert's name correctly.... You are an example of Reverse-Darwinism: The product of 2 inferior humans. O&A Board Regular Registered: Mar. 01 | Rommel..asshole, to answer your question, no. I never liked Bourque..always found him to be Locker Room Kryptonite. I feel the same about Jagr. Cal me stupid or whatever, i know my hockey, and i know that people like those tear a team apart. Bourque spent the last 2 years playing the "story" everyone loved. It seems to me people forgot the other 19 years when the man was just an asshole. He never deserved the Norris. I agree, he was a good offensive defensman, but the Norris is for best Defensman overall, i think it was clearly never Bourque, but the man was always surrounded by hype and was just overblown. This is not a new hatred of Bourque..i've hated him most of my life.

Psychopath Registered: Jan. 01 | Well Unicron, I don't doubt your knowledge of the Devils, but I think it clouds your knowledge of hockey. Ray Bourque is definately one of the greatest defenseman of all time, both offensivly and defensivly. He is not an asshole, he is a class act. Have you met him? A lot of people in my family have and he is class all the way. Talk to any player that has been on a team with him and you will hear the same story. Sorry, Bourque touches a nerve with me since I have watched him since he entered the league. I am waiting to hear that Bobby Orr was an ass as well. But I don't think that will happen. Funny, we are all sitting here arguing about people we know nothing about for the most part. Kwyjibo Proud graduate of the Brokenjaw school for newbies Thanks to Sephiroth for the sigpic
