| O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | No offense to anyone, but i'm not here to stroke the egos of a couple of radio millionares. of course theres more talk about the negative than the positive. a year ago there really WAS no negative, there would be maybe one bad/boring segment per show, and i'd listen to the vast majority of it. now i'd say that theres a lot more negative than there used to be, and thats being represented in the number of negative posts. when there is a funny segment, which is not nearly as often as there used to be, i'm not about to get all excited for them. sorry to say, the general trend of the show has been downward, which sucks because i used to listen to the whole show all the time. they are still sometimes good, and now very rarely great, but i will be damned if i'm gonna do a happy dance for every funny segment the two of them happen to pull off, just to improve the image of the board in the eyes of opie and anthony. Bottom line: they are supposed to be funny. we aren't supposed to get excited and say "yay! they didn't suck today!" If something is particularly great, i'll comment positively, just like it was back in the day, no more no less. When I joined this board, its consisted of hardcore, loyal listeners who had been with O&A either from the beginning of their time in NY or who came here from their Boston days. When they did something stupid, they liked when we called the show and told them about it...in fact, they could spend a whole show making fun of themselves. Now they spend a whole show talking about fat girls in nighties. Is that fair to listeners? NO. Is it fair that in the past few days especially, this site has been knocked down and power has been abused? NO. Is it fair that we're expected to post only nice things about ENTERTAINERS? NO. Its ridiculous. Like many have said before me, we say nice things when there are nice things to be said. But when there is 4 hours of show filled with bullshit, we as fans have a right to comment. They should be grateful that we do it on here and we don't call the show and tell them on air. I would think that would be a bigger slap in the face. Froy says that they're only generalizing because they can't call people out directly, but I don't believe that. It would be just as easy for them to say there are some assholes on the board, rather than lumping us all into the same category. I believe that they feel that we've lost our usefulness. This site appears more and more to have been merely a tool which they used to help them reach their goal of syndication. Now we're useless to them, so they can treat us like the shit they obviously always felt us to be.
