| Psychopath Registered: Jun. 01  | I'm not in charge of anything, but if I was this is what I'd do. 6-10 - WbenEW (face it, we all listen to Stern, but I change the station for those 40 min commercial breaks, and from 5-6 nobody is driving so why not play more boring infomercials) 10-2 - Radio Chick (give her a chance, maybe getting her old time slot back and losing less of her audience to Stern could motivate her again) If she sucks after a month I'm all in favor of hearing a tape delay version of Brother Wheeze's show from earlier THAT day. 2-3 - R&F best of 3-7 O&A 7-11 Don and Mike (live) 11-3 Ron and Fez (weren't they on this late in the very beginning?) It just makes sense to keep Don and Mike because that could give O&A the boost they need in other markets, if people tune in early to the Don and Mike show. once O&A get established you could toss DM from Infinity all together. | Psychopath Registered: Oct. 00 | Despite all your valiant attempts to reprogram the station, Don & Mike will not be moving out of PM Drive. They are number one in so many markets elsewhere - DC and Sacramento being the two biggest - it would not be a wise move for Infinity to move them just for the sake of O & A and WNEW. That being said, D & M have made their desire to be live in New York known, but I think that was with respect to PM Drive (read: move O & A) only. And APD, ShavinBush is right. Using the numbers that the whiny, annoying Yenta (sorry to be redundant) quoted, her show reached a peak of sixth for the "midday time slot," which she neglected to mention encompassed 10-3, the 2-3 hour being "Worst of O & A." Take out that hour, counting only her actual 10-2 show, she peaked at eleventh (I believe). "Have you talked to your doctor about Stacker 2?" | ||||

As much as I love hearing Ron and Fez & Opie and ANthony worst of on SAturdays and Sundays, I would love WNEW to take a chance and try to give new upcoming talent a weekend slot, even if it's just for a week or 2. Tell me one young broadcaster at a college somewhere (IONA, NYU, Hofstra, etc.) who wouldn't love just two hours on the weekend in the biggest market out there to see what they can do! You can't, can you? Not gonna happen. They have so many opened slots (and slots that should be opened) that they can use for a lot better service than informercials! | O&A Board Regular Registered: Mar. 01 | I'd love for Dee Snider to come down to NYC and do mornings. he's on ClearChannel though, so he can't come to NEW....i used to go up to Hartford when i was helping my brother with his trucking, and g'damn the man actually has an extremly funny show. i hope his contract is up soon so Infinity can snatch him up and give NEW a good morning show. After 3 years, WNEW is basiclly only the O&A show. It's almost as if WNEW is cursed by the ghost of Scotso or something...nothing works over there.  | ||||

O&A lost something like 30% of their audience that was a nice lead-in. The numbers were from a 5.2 to 3.7 share. Not that O&A aren't hillarious, because they are, but the Chick was doing a decent job as their lead in. The Chicks lead in was either mason and kolinsky or the show that was looking for 1 million listeners and had to accept pledges like "I work for AT&T, we have 8 million customers, 7 million of which don't even live in the listening area"..OK, 8 million listeners, Write that down Blaine. You may not like her but she was the 2nd best show when she got moved from 10-2. Remember what station were talking about. And NEW will not fire her she will get either the LoveLines shift or the Lick-Ass shift! Relegated to Radio Hell! The only difference being that she will be doing it live while the others are doing as part of their NATIONAL Syndication, something the Chick won't see unless OnA, DnM, Stern, RnF, Lick-Ass, LoveLines, Jim Rome, Steve Dahl, Man-Ass, Ron and Don, Blow and Job, Dip and Shit, ETC ETC ETC all DIE and even then every program director that ever heard her show was also blown off of the face of this earth and then ETC ETC ETC . . . | ||||
