O&A Board Regular Registered: Sep. 00 | Dragging the waters some more here... Those were the days man. Anyone remember Construx form Fisher price? I built all sorts of ccrazy shit out of them and use battle beasts as drivers and pilots. Legos were a favorite too, until Construx. The first Nerf Football, I use to come home with at least one cut or scrape every day after playing nerf football. As for board games, who could forget topple and Operation? Chess was a favorite, Use to play it with older brother. Looks like I wasn't the only one who grew up poor until I was about 9. My ma use to make a big pot of elbow noodles and Spaghetti sauce. Occasionally, there was a pound of ground beef added to the pot for dinner. I didn't eat until dinner. This is what I do now. Why? Because I can, that's why!

O&A Board Regular Registered: Jul. 01 | I remember... having this kickass ((cheap... really cheap)) drumset when I was like 3. I have a video of me at my parent's house playing with it and trying to disrobe. It's hilarious, and I'm sure you kid touchers would love it. my brothers had lawn darts, they were pretty cool, nothing like knowing your parents really check into the "safety" of toys. the biggest and hottest item that was in my house was the original nintendo. like i said in another thread, it's now housed at my bro's apt and it's the only reason to go see him... jk. but it is a sick addiction. i loved the muppets, and i had a kermit the frog from the time i was born, he's somewhere in this house now. i had a lotta muppet shit all over the house. we also had this old old old computer TI-99-4A. It had like 2 games and played this cheesy song that was called something like "yes we have no bananas..." i just had my brother sing it to me ... ahhh memories. I'm sure i'll think of more. EDIT* the ones i thought of while reading this post was the one i forgot--- GI Joes ... my brothers got shitloads of those and Star Wars things ((kids of the 70s)) and they got passed to me. Who knew with the GI Joe thing would lead to who I'm with now. Hehehehe LEGOS ARE COOL Do I Hear The Jingling Of Dog Tags? Oh I Know You Just Wanna Spank Me. O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | oddly enough i got this email today. i know it's usually frowned upon to post these things but this one seemed appropriate. now keep in mind that it came from accross the pond so there's probably a few that only i'm going "oh yeah" also, some of them seem a little too recent to be 80's child associated, or maybe i'm just that old: Um Bongo, Um Bongo, They drink it in the Congo. Hello children of the 80's. Read this, it will take you back but be careful cause it will also make: you realise that you are now actually OLD!!!!!!!! Snap bracelets were always getting you in trouble at school. You played with "My Little Ponies." Friendship bracelets were ties that couldn't be broken. You read Nancy Drew, The Hardy Boys, The Babysitters Club, or Sweet Valley High. You know all the words to "Ice Ice Baby". You wanted to be on "Jim'll Fix It". You can remember what Michael Jackson looked like before he had plastic surgery. You wore one of those slap-on wrist bands at some point...or heaven forbid one of those T-shirts that changed colour with heat. You had slouch socks (oh yeah baby!!!!)and puff painted your own shirt at least once. You know the profound meaning of "Wax on, Wax off". You were upset when She-ra, Princess of Power and He-Man got cancelled. You can remember watching Full House and Saved by the Bell ( ahhh) You remember Madonna in her cone stage. You knew "The Artist" when he was humbly called "Prince." You even wore flourescent-neon clothing... (if you can call it clothing!) and bermuda shorts You could breakdance, or wished you could. You remember when amiga was a state of the art video game system. You remember M.C. Hammer. You can still sing the rap to "Fresh Prince of Bel Air".... You can remember when it was Jazzy Jeff and The fresh Prince and NOT Will Smith! You own any cassettes. You carried your lunch to school in a Gremlins or an ET lunchbox. You have ever pondered why Smurfette was the ONLY female smurf. My Little Pony, Gummy Bears and Transformers are familiar to you. You ever had a Swatch Watch. You actually spent countless hours trying to perfect the "Care Bear stare." You believed that "By the power of Greyskull, you HAD the power!" You thought that Transformers were more than meets the eye. You spent hours in the basement building and re- building Lego cities. Big wheels and BMX's were the way to go. With your pink (or blue) portable tape player, you sang back up to Kylie and Jason! If you ever owned Polly Pocket or Micro Machines. If you ever made Ken fall in love with Barbie. If you can identify with at least half of these, you are a child of the 80's!! An invasion of armies can be resisted, but not an idea whose time has come. --Victor Hugo regardless of my status, i am a nice person. no really, i am, i swear;) crack hitler belongs to me :) need me? try:

O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | actually, i just saw an episode that i'd never seen before the other day at that time rape. i never knew ac slater had a g/f over seas, she showed up and caused poor jessie a whole lot of grief, much hilarity ensued including zach and jessie cross dressing as old people. i still say the best episode was when jessie od's on the no doz :) An invasion of armies can be resisted, but not an idea whose time has come. --Victor Hugo regardless of my status, i am a nice person. no really, i am, i swear;) crack hitler belongs to me :) need me? try:

Psychopath Registered: Aug. 01 | HaHa, that episode was on last week. But you can't leave out the one about the Zack Attack, where they were all in some famous rock band, without Jesse, and all fought cause Zack was too conceited. They could have at least pretended to play the instruments. Wow, am I a dork or what? thanks to Tricia I LOVE THE MORON

O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | quote: Boy, Cabbage Patch dolls - there was the fad of fads. Parents waiting at the stores before it opened to run over anyone in their way in order to be a hero for their kid. There was a Cabbage Patch Hospital on 5th avenue in Manhattan, and some of those dolls that were "originals" were selling for for Hundreds of dollars. It was what made Coleco stock shoot up (until coleco Adam made it come tumbling down).
