O&A Board Regular Registered: Aug. 01 | Awwwwww shit, look at how happy the Canadians are that they won a Gold Medal. Even though we doubled their medal total, they still look like they are on top of the world, I don't get it... As for the game, the USA left Richter by himself. They played horrible defensively

O&A Board Regular Registered: Dec. 01 | quote:This quote is pretty f'n funny. Well anyway, I wanted to congratulate Mr. Richter (*cringe*) and the rest of team USA on a fabulous Olympics. It's not a gold but it's respectable. M. Richter played his ass off. That save in the middle of the 2nd period was one of the best saves I've ever seen in my life. See ya in 4 years ya lousy Canadian pricks! 50 years? It's aboot time!!! Nobody fucks with Dice, Dice does the fuckin!

Psychopath Registered: May. 01 | I really enjoyed the speed and excitement of these Olympic hockey games, and I think that eliminating the 2 line pass would take the NHL to new heights. I think it would also bring in more fans because it would be more exciting and entertaining. Granted, the talent level at the games was much higher than your average NHL team, but I think it could work to the benefit of the league. I would also like to see the shoot-out used in tie games. Yeah, I know a lot of you guys disagree, but what's the difference between a fluke goal in OT vs. a shoot out victory? Either way both teams would have played their hearts out, and still ended up tied after regulation (and an extra OT period... at least). I am for fast paced exciting sport, and I really think by changing a little bit, the NHL could really improve an already excellent product. BTW, congrats to Team Canada. And a special thanks to Team USA for winning the silver. Tell me where it hurts

O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | quote:i know i don't post much in the sports forum, but this has to be one of the stupidest things i've ever read. oh no, they're happy because they just won a fucking gold medal in the olympics. well, good for them, what the hell is not to get? they're supposed to not enjoy their moment of glory because they didn't win medals in other areas? by that argument, all the us medal winners should be miserable because germany got one more medal in total. it was a good game, the cananadians played better, they won, they deserve to be happy, end of story. need me? try: [email protected]

Psychopath Registered: Oct. 00 | quote: Are you fucking kidding me? I know it's a bit cliche, but that man stood on his goddamn head in that net. The only 'weak' goal was a deflection, which you can never blame on a goalie. And the clincher was a breakaway against Joe F'n Sakic...you know, the best offensive forward in hockey?! Richter looked like a magician at times, and although my opinion is certainly debatable, I think he looked like the better of the two goalies on the ice yesterday. The team USA's defense was simply not good enough to keep up with Lemieux, Sakic, Yzerman, Ignla, Lindros, etc. But I'm not sure there is a defense who could keep up with lines like that. And even though Jeremy Roenick is one of my favorite players in the NHL, he and the rest of the US forwards aren't on the same level as that Canadian group when they are on their game. So congrats to Team Canada, Congrats to Team USA, you couldn't have asked for a better played game, only a happier outcome. This message was edited by spe5150 on 2-25-02 @ 1:59 PM

Psychopath Registered: May. 01 | quote:I agree. Playoff games that should go into multiple OT periods until a goal is scored. I just think there should be no ties in hockey. There's no need for it when there's another viable, more entertaining option. Tell me where it hurts
