OK, I've listened to "the rant", and here are my comments :

Op says "if we don't like the show - stop posting". He assumes there will be more positive than negative thoughts regarding the show. I don't know, this sounds a little big-headed to me. The board is a tool for communication, and posting displeasure with a bit or even a show should be looked at as a good thing. This way they get an idea of how the listeners are liking/disliking a bit. Most times I think the shows are funny, but when its not I'll easliy say it's not. I don't mean if a Stern-zombie posts "O&A suck" they should care, but id people put an insightful, well-thought-out post of something they don't like, it should be considered. And if their stance is "why should we care?", then why care what's said on the board at all?

And Norton sticks up for us in the end - he really doesn't bash the board in general, just the Florentine post. The guys go off on the posters, using words like "powerhungry", "assmunches", etc. I don't know. I can't remember when it was the last time OA.Com was mentioned on the air - hell, it wasn't even mentioned in the rant! It's just the "message board". I know, wer'e linked on Foundry and on OandA.com, but thats not the point. If we were all to post "O&A rule no matter what" and act like Stern Zombies, would we still get a mention?

I just think that if they're not going to go out and acknowledge the board, they shouldn't complain if they see something on it that they don't like. I love the guys, no joke, best thing on the radio today. But for Christ's sake, they made it sound like we've become the anti-O&A board, and I don't see that at all.

O&A are trying to divert the REAL reason behind the fighting of the board. You might hate me for what I am going to say but you all deep down to know I'm right. O&A have become Syndication Panderers.They pay more attention to OTHER cities than NYC and the whole Tri-state area. Which by the way IS O&A's MAIN HARDCORE FANBASE!!! Just like what Gonzostyle said.They are teetering on pushing away the hardcore fans with all the "Sacramento this, Boston that" Just my opinions folks.

Froy, I'm not saying it isn't hard work to do a show, I know it is and I understand that but when you're in the entertainment field you should expect to deal with criticism.

attila's right. they wouldn't be syndicated if it wasn't for their New York fans. they said before syndication that it was cuz of their new york fans, and they would never forget us. well, i think we've been had. the new york fans are just a complete disappointment since they were syndicated. we don't "represent" in any contests, we no longer care about the show. well, naybe we are no longer represnting in your stupid, over-drawn contest because you know all the new york contestants by name, and we no longer care to go and hang in the studio. the show has become everything you guys made fun of before. every week there's another stupid contest. before syndicaion there were like 5 contests, now the naughtie nightie contest is wrapping up, and the 55 gallon drum contest is next. just do what you've been doing before you were syndicated.

Yeah notice how they are having a HARD time in recruiting Tri-State area girls for their contests? hmmmmm. I feel heartbroken that a show I defended to my blood core for 3 years is now becoming what O&A have made fun of- Company radio. I still have hope they'll regain their footing.

I think that they are being to sensitive. It is just a Message Board (don't tell magnus i said that). O&A are taking themselves a little to seriously. For Ant to say that we have no life posting on a message board when he spends a good amount of time here himself is a lot odd.

It would help to have the interaction with the show that this board had. I can't even tell you when i saw an Anthony post or even Roger for that matter.

But the thing that we have to remember is the underdstanding is a three edged sword. I'd love to hear what Opie thinks that this place should be or turn into. Maybe we can benefit, but just being Blind fans does nothing to help.

-The posters are being mean to the newbies? that ol' ol' ol' ol' gag - People that complain that the posters are mean to newbies are usually just tools that deserved to get ripped.

Outside of a couple jokes, when I first came here, I didn't get tooled on at all, and like everyone else, I at some point was a newbie. So the way I see it, all the complaints that newbies get reemed for no reason is pretty much a bunch of crap.

And "newbies" saying that their "afraid" to post, ugh, suck it. Afraid to post, its an internet message board, what the hell are you afraid of.

-As far as the o&a show itself, its not the same as it was for the NY and longtime listeners, but you couldn't really expect it to be. The other markets don't want to hear bout NY all the time. So while it may suck for us, thats somethin we gotta get used to, or not listen to the show.

O&A have entertained me for over 3 years, got me through some very long days at a thankless job, and have been cool to me when I have met them and talked to them on the air. They have tooled on me when I have sucked on the air, and you know what, I took it like a man.
So stop fucking bitching because the boys ranted about "your" precious board. If you don't like it, don't listen anymore.

angelo, i disagree. there is no reason that any city has to be mentioned. they can do the same show they did before they were syndicated, they were just 2 juys hanging with their friends, doing guy things. that's what made it fun to listen to.
