Okay, look at it from Anthony's point of view. That certain person who's name I will not type out of respect for Anth threatened his job via lawsuit. If there was someone you used to work with that did that to you would you want to hear (see) his name all over the place? Chances are no, because it would piss you off. This guy pisses Anth off so stop throwing his name in Anth's face. That's all he asks. Get over yourselves and just do it already. This is not a matter of freedom of speech or censorship, it's a matter of respecting someone's wishes.

This is merely a case of one hand washing the other. Anthony asked to keep his personal life off of it, and the mods catered to his needs, because, after all this board wouldnt be shit without them mentioning it on the air.
Dont be fooled into thinking this is a democracy, it isn't.
Don't be fooled into thinking that this is a completely impartial forum for discussion of the Opie and Anthony Show, it isn't. This is nothing more than a fan site run by a fan who happens to have a personal relationship with the celebrities it's about.
You can't really blame anyone though, If most of you ran the site you'd do the same thing and if most of you were in Anthony's shoes you would ask that your personal life be respected.
"Why does Anthony get special treatment?", you may ask. Well it's because he's already got a god damn article written about him in the paper, and not to mention the rumors that are already spreading throughout the radio industry. We dont really need to give any ammunition to any other jocks that might be reading the boards.
Also, to the mods...If you dont like what someone writes, just delete it, shut up and get off your high horse. No one needs to be deleted over this crap.

I am with FTL on this.

If they play the week in review bits with SPAZ on the show, and the members of this messageboard can't comment on that, as far as they thought it was funny, or SPAZ is a total idiot, but I love the guy etc.. something is NOT right.

As far as personal life issues, I think we, as fans(general term, read below) can and should show some respect, on a fan site dedicated to the show, to not trash them about their personal life on the board.

Aside from personal life trashing, I think that we, and I speak for the true fans, not neccessarily for myself or anyone in particular... we as in a general term... should and should be allowed, to give constructive criticism in regards to the show.

For instance, if the fans don't like all the contests, this should be a sounding board for the fans to say so, and a reference point for the show to see what their fan base likes and dislikes.

Pure out, enemy of the showlike bashing is uncalled for, and on a messageboard based as a fan site for the show, these types of all out bashings shouldn't be tolerated either.

Sure it is 'public knowledge' that there was a divorce. But, should a site that was built to be dedicated to the show be a constant barrage of negativity for the main characters of the show? I believe the answer is 'no'.

It is hypocritical on BOTH sides to keep this going the way it has been.

I think that BOTH sides need to see umm well, COMPREHEND BOTH sides of this issue, and each do a little bending, respectively.

I think it all started with the Declaration of Independence -- the idea that we had the inalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. That pursuit is what took America from the revolution to the computer age in 200 years. But the progress has come at a price. The obvious being the people that were exploited to make it possible; the not so obvious being us, the first group of people that were given no obvious frontiers to conquer. We hear stories that about the good old days that don't seem to apply anymore. It's a generation gap that leaves us without role models. But the bright side is that without role models, there are no roles. Maybe that's what the 60s were all about -- getting rid of the roles. But what do we replace them with? Without any guidance, what do we replace them with? Without any guidance, the choices become overwhelming. Sometimes it just makes everything feel hopeless. So we destroy our bodies in the search of an ideal. Try to salvage relationships that don't work. We feel we must do something, instead of doing something that we feel. It is the prison of self-imposed momentum, and the sad part is that we get used to it. It reminds me of a song I heard the other day. It's called "The Going Nowhere Fast." But the people I have met here have shown me another side of Nowhere. They've pointed out the beautiful irony that stagnation makes it easy to stop and smell the roses, if we just let it. What would we be if we had nothing to rebel against? Well we could finally be ourselves, the first group of people who stopped looking for the answers long enough to appreciate the questions. And all we have to do is to make our own Declaration of Independence. We can embrace the right to life and liberty by simply realizing that happiness exists -- not to pursue, but to accept. After that the only challenge would be to make sure with the rest of our lives that we weren't just another fad. I don't know, it's an idea. What do you think?

Just to throw my 2 cents in. On a personal note, I feel for Anthony. I don't wish what he is going through on my worst enemy.

But, one of the funniest bits I ever heard on the O&A show was Corky Stern. This was the bit where Anthony cried without control to the song "Allison" in the Stern voice. At the time when Howard and his wife split up.

I know that Ant is hurting, embarassed, etc. having his personal life aired for everyone to hear and see. No matter how much money you have that isn't fair. He is an entertainer, not a circus act.

But we can't be hypocritical either, if we can dish it out you got to be able to take it too. Free speech is alive and well in this country. If you don't like what someone says ignore it.

What happened to the days when hate fans of the o&a show would be ridiculed and eventually either run off this board or banned? Sure makes you think twice if this is a "FAN" site for "LISTENERS".
