Psychopath Registered: Mar. 01 | I want to ask Shayne Corson one question: "How does your face feel after Cairns drilled his fist into it 12 times?" Wow what a great game. Hits, fights, goals, intensity - that is playoff hockey. And I have officially come to the conclusion that Darcy Tucker is the biggest pussy on Earth. He goes after Jason Blake,[Sarcasm]a top enforcer in the league[/Sarcasm]. He goes after Shawn Bates,[Sarcasm]another premier goon[/Sarcasm]. Yet he won't touch Webb, Scatchard, Shultz. At least Corson had enough balls to try and dance with Cairns. I give him props for that. Tucker is a pansy. And one other question on the Roberts hit on Kenny Jonsson - why wasn't Roberts tossed from that game? Doesn't a five minute major penalty for boarding automatically come with a game misconduct? I heard that he was kept in the game because Jonsson didn't have any visible marks on his face. Like his body lying prone on the ice isn't visible enough. ___________________________________________________________________ I'm bigger than the Devil combined with Schindler's list.

Psychopath Registered: Feb. 01 | quote: That is EXACTLY what I was thinking as the fights broke out. I gotta give the Isles credit, I thought they were gonna resort to goon tactics, but outside of two dumb penalties by Cummings and a late hit by Czerchawski (where the fuck has he been til last night?) in the 2nd, they managed to fairly and not cheatingly knock Tucker and Pat Quinn's other thugs on their ass six ways to Sunday in a respectful manner by hockey standards. That said, I expected us to kick their ass with all the intangibles last night, but it is Game 7 I am really worried about. At best, it is a tossup, but I really feel with the team depleted so much and it being in Toronto, ya gotta favor the Leafs. If the Islanaders can keep it close late in the game, though, that will be their chance as I feel the Leafs might choke a bit if the collar is so tight. Oh yeah, and big Game 7 tonight in Colorado. Can't wait, it's been an impressive comeback so far by the Kings -- can they finish it? And let's also see if the Habs can finish off the Bruins tonight, or if that series is gonna have a Game 7, too. My money is on the Habs tonight and I have no clue on the other one. 1. 94 Wins and NL East Title by the Mets this year 2. Hate the Braves with a passion 3. O&A Board Regular Registered: Dec. 00 | Ill tell you its really tough rooting for this Maple Leaf team here. They have a bunch of gutless and classless individuals, it makes it really hard to root for a team like that. I have always hated Pat Quinn. With the exception of Bobby Clarke, i despise him more than anybody in hockey. The Leafs should be able to beat the Islanders on talent alone but they are a bunch of thugs. If it wasnt for the fact that it was the Islanders, I would be rooting hard for the Islanders team to win. Same bunch of players on both sides, wearing different sweaters, I would have a completely different rooting interest in this series. I would just like to see Toronto close out the Islanders tomorrow, and then get smoked by either Ottawa or Carolina in the 2nd Round.

O&A Board Regular Registered: Sep. 00 | This first round is going great so far from the ranger fan point of view. If the Isles lose tonight (Please god let that happen) it will be great. I dont feel bad for any injuries the Isles have gotten, even though you hate to see players get hurt. After all what goes around comes around. How many times have the isles sent out thugs in the past to injure pple, remember mick vukota at the end of all ranger-isle games in the early 90's. how about Potvin's infamous hit? Isle fans there is a reason hes so hated at the garden. I'm not saying the Isles invented cheap shots but every team does them and every team is the victim of them. In 94 the rangers lost Beuk in game 7 due to a cheap shot, They lost Kovalev in a game due to a cheap shot but they were good enough to overcome it. I just hate it when I hear Fans crying like this is the worst thing that ever happened on ice, Stop whining

O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | Just to let all you ISLANDERS fans know, Corson has been suspended for tonight's Game 7. Here's your chance now to take the series from the Leafs. These teams have turned this into an all out war, and the remaining bombs will be used tonight at the Air Canada Center. Tonight's final is going to be one of those 1-0 or 2-1 games, but don't know who is going to win. I'll watch the game tonight even though I should be out on the golf course with the RANGERS. Mets are going to win the World Series in 2002!!!!

Psychopath Registered: Mar. 01 | I don't think there will be a lot of rough stuff in this game. Each team knows that this is it. They don't have another game to fall back on. Win, go on. Lose, go home. Simple as that. Even as an Islander fan, I may have to give the advantage to the Leafs. They are at home, and Cujo is gonna look to rebound in the worst way. No Corson does favor Yashin. But at home, with Cujo, and the experience they have, I have to give the edge to the Leafs. ___________________________________________________________________ I'm bigger than the Devil combined with Schindler's list. I want this series to be over cause this isn't the kind of Hockey I like. 2 teams I hate are proving absolutely nothing to us but that they are wimps (mainly the Leafs) Go Carolina and go Ottawa.... 1. 94 Wins and NL East Title by the Mets this year 2. Psychopath Registered: Feb. 01 | Wow, look at Lent all of a sudden, out of nowhere, finally speaking! Look at RUSTYTROMBONE all of a sudden showing up! Wow. Gutsy people you Ranger fans are. As an Isle fan, I gotta say that was one fucking frustrating third period, but hey at least I can say my franchise isn't an embarrassment anymore. Too bad you Johnny Come Lately Ranger fans (outside of a couple like Francine, who at least had the balls to show your face throughout the series) can't say the same thing. I mean, with your great depth and top notch management that knows what they're doing, you'll be a shoe in to make the playoffs next year. I mean, hey, you all said that last year and also when you got Lindros and now when you have Bure and that always seems to end up splendid! Nevermind you'll give up 8 billion goals with your porous defense because the guys on top are going after the Pavel Bures of the world, who you have 10 of already, instead of getting somebody who won't force poor Richter (or whoever is on goal) to make 40 saves a game. But, anyway, back to REAL hockey teams, I hate the fucking Leafs, but they deserve alot of credit. No cheap hits. No trying to decapitate people. No trying to end a career. THIS TIME, it was just good, clean hockey the way it oughta be played and they beat us fair and square. They deserved it and kudos to them. And kudos to the Isles for giving us a season more exciting than anything we coulda dreamed about for the past almost decade. Now, GO SENATORS!!!!!!!! BTW, matchups are: East Carolina v. Montreal Toronto v. Ottawa West San Jose v. Colorado Detroit v. St. Louis I see a Leafs (unfortunately) v. Canadiens and Wings v. Avalanche (at least I predicted the West right!) final four. Anybody have the Round 2 schedules? 1. 94 Wins and NL East Title by the Mets this year 2. Hate the Braves with a passion 3. All 5 Starters have winning records this year 4. Mets win World Series 5. How can you bash the Rangers for getting Bure when the guy is the best goal scorer in the game and scored 12 goals in 12 games. They have the off season to work on getting some defensive players in here, and lets hope Sather doesnt go out and sign the Ulanov's and Karpa's of the world like he did last year. I hear that Dan McGillis has a good chance to land here as he is good friends with Lindros and is a free agent, and we will certainly bid adieu to Berard and not pick up his option for his constant lack of defense and only 2 goals.

Psychopath Registered: Mar. 01 | The Rangers are not gonna win the Cup next year. Any Ranger fan with 1/4 of a brain can tell you that. But I can't bash them for going after Bure. He is one of the most prolific goal scorers in the NHL today. Any team would love to have him. Look at his first three years on a shitty Florida team: 1998-1999 - 11 games, 13 goals 1999-2000 - 74 games, 58 goals 2000-2001 - 82 games, 59 goals He did everything he could to help that horrible team. People complained that he didn't pass the puck. Well, answer me this - who the fuck was he gonna pass to? They had Bure and then nobody else. He was the team. Offensively, Rangers look in very good shape. Defensively, they need to fix it and in a hurry. ___________________________________________________________________ I'm bigger than the Devil combined with Schindler's list.

Next year will be different, Richter won't be over-played, Bure, and Lindros will have excellent seasons, we'll have a new defense, we'll trade away Nedved possibly. I'm expecting a 15 point rise in the Rangers final standing. And you guys will probably have the same team next year as this year 'cept without your best one for 3 months.
