Psychopath Registered: Feb. 01	After reading most of these posts..We can all determine for ourselves we dont hate them. We just wish they would go back ot the way the shows were before syndication, where they just hung out and had a good mix of fan interaction on the show and had a very simple format where there was none and they just let things flow however they went...If you have anything to add please go ahead.

O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01	I was all set to go into a huge rant, but seeing how this died out quicker than expected, I'll keep it somewhat short. I just wanted to say that both Opie and Anthony made good points about the newbie bashing and the show bashing, but I was pissed how it was made to sound like we all partake in that behavior. As a matter of fact, just 2 days ago someone asked about finding Stephen Lynch material. I took it upon myself to help this person and direct them to his site before some asshole jumped in to attack just for the hell of it. We're not all like what you described guys. It may not seem like it to you guys lately, but you do still have hardcore fans here that absolutely love the show. Granted, not every show is great, but then again what program knocks out classics everyday. I just hope you realize this and aren't so quick to judge ALL of us next time. Unless you've written a book you can't make fun of an author. But why is it O&A can e critical of so many stars and entertianers, people of which they are fans of as well but they still trash them. We as fans should be able to say when we feel something is wrong. No matter how much syrup you pour on shit it still isn't pancakes. Why should we settle for a second rate unfunny show when we know how great their potential is and was. I would understand if it was one or two people but the consensus seems to be the show sucks, plain and simple. Even people I know off the board ::gasp:: they also say the show has really lost it's edge. I tried, I tried to ignore things and listen for a couple of months after syndication but one day I just turned it off. I used to listen to every minute of everyday and I still have a collection of over 400 hours of old shows from up to mid 2001. I could never picture missing a show now I just don't care. Why should we just sit here and say wow great job guys and lie to them? It's not great, I know this is a fan base and fans are supposed to be honest. What I loved most was Anthony besides calling us Jagtools. When anthony said "It's like everything, it starts off great and has a lot of potential. Then people get powerhungry and lose sight." Gee Anthony you mean like say for example..... a radio show? I said it before and I will again the board will always reflect the show. Tell me why in the past year since syndication, why has general discussion topics about the show fallen off by so much? And when Anthony said that when they replay old material from the week that to 99% of the listeners it is new? What kind of fucked up math are you pulling? so you gain a listener base of 99% every week? of only 1% of your listeners, listen for more than 10 minutes a day? I'll pick the later. So before you ridicule us take a look in your own backyard pal. I will not sit blindly or quiver away because Anthony got loud. The show sucks it has it's moments of bein funny. You have no honesty you have filler like a certain other jock you used to say you hated. You have chicks come in studio, you have guests and you have female contests constantly. Filler is great 30-40% of the time but we loved O&A, I loved the two of you guys the chicks and contests were great but I think we miss the brutal honesty that was once you. But I'm just a jagtool. Of all the classes that stand face to face with the bourgeoisie today, the proletariat alone is a genuinely revolutionary class. The other classes decay and finally disappear in the face of Modern Industry; the proletariat is its special and essential product. The lower middle class, the small manufacturer, the shopkeeper, the artisan, the peasant, all these fight against the bourgeoisie, to save from extinction their existence as fractions of the middle class. Psychopath Registered: Oct. 00	Syndication was good for one thing, and one thing only. It now has taken care of Anthony Cumia's, and Gregg Hughes' families for life. God Bless them for the accomplishment. Their work/genius has brought them to Everest. They can't go any higher unless one wants to consider a few more affiliates that might be added to the fold. Thus the show becomes ever more dilluted/repeated in terms of content. The bottom line is when a "Corporation" is dishing out many tens of millions, one will do whatever is told to them by whoever is paying the salaries.....So, when OPIE always declares that "they" win in the end, he really means the suits "win" in the end. For the suits are turning the intimacy we the listeners once had, into a commercial/whore fest. Hey the bills have to be paid, and the profit margin could never be high enough. Unfortunately New York isn't the only son/daughter in the family any longer, and the other siblings need attention, if only to appease and please the bosses.
