He's just a little bored, on vacation, so he's stirring the pot, stoking the furnace etc...He's way too bright not to realize how utterly hysterical it is for him to "request" that newspaper articles about him not be fodder for humor. I mean c'mon people. For a guy who makes his $$$ busting peoples' balls to ask for a free pass is way way too incongruous not to be intentional! It has to be a goof. A goof that alot of folks have bought, hook, line and sinker. People who engage in ball busting have to be able to take it as well as give it or they risk being exposed as counterfeit, thin-skinned or just plain whiny. We all know someone like that and usually go out of our way to bust their balls even more, once we see that they can't take it, which makes it even funnier! Now, does that sound like a fair description of Ant? NO FUCKING WAY!! Do you really believe that He considers HIS lopsided divorce different from any other high profile divorce(or any divorce for that matter)? The whole notion of Ant suddenly becoming vulnerable, sensitive or whiny is laughable. Being over-sensitive and whiny is Opie's job and, like the song says"...nobody does it better". From what I've heard Ant say, this whole radio gig has been an improbable, unreal twist to his life. All opie has or will ever have is radio. But Ant knows what a 40 hour work week feels like and he knows what a hard day's pay for a hard day's work is all about. His attitude is that of a regular guy. And he seems to be just that, a regular guy---with a unique, conspicuous job. And a regular guy wouldn't spend his workday playfully busting on co-workers or names in the news only to request a free pass when it came to his turn to get a little heat, assuming, of course, he's aware of how douchey that double standard would be received by those who know him. So, as I said, my guess is that Ant's too down to earth to be serious about expecting a free pass on anything and he's probably sitting back,scrolling and laughing at how emotional some people are getting about him, the show, this board.......P.S. Why do some people believe that there should be any rules to this board OTHER THAN THOSE DECIDED UPON BY FROY??? His board, His rules.....Your Board, Your rules. Where's the ambiguity?!? There is no such thing as complete freedom of speech in public forums - they are all regulated in some fashion. Jesus people, get over it and move on. If things aren't what you think they should be, contact Froy; if you don't like his answer, leave.  | ||||

You two break up--a real nasty one. maybe he says shit about you, or maybe she wants to be with other, better people. Whatever the reason, it was really nasty. However, that ex o' yours is still friends with your other friends. Do you like it when your friends say his/her name around you? NO, of course you don't--it hurts. anthony may be famous. some of us may have met him, hell, a lot of us have hung out with the guy. Yeah, he makes fun of people for a living. But, he is entitled to keeping people that he doesn't know and that don't know him OUT OF CERTAIN ASPECTS OF HIS LIFE. Just because he is quasi-famous, does not make him accessible all the time to all of us. out of ALL the things people can talk about and have talked about on this message board, can't you just NOT talk about certain things? and don't say "Well, we should be able to. it's the principle of free speech, blah, blah, blah." Unfortunately, people look at you as a God like figure. You are the Cinderella story, the American Dream and you hit gold when you got into radio from your blue collar job. And now you have fans. Fans who admire you, look up to you, and want to be like you. They don’t see you as character on a show. They see you as a friend who will have a beer with them down at the local pub. Regrettably, there are also fanatics who are a little too obsessed with you. That’s why they invented restraining orders and I’m sure you’ll have more than one in your lifetime. It’s liked a F-ed up math equation. The more famous you get, the more people have to talk about you, whether it’s good or bad. I actually applaud you for taking a stand about ones personal life. But if that doesn’t work, you could always try the cool high school approach. You didn’t care what the popular person at high school though about you, right? People ARE going to write things about you but just stay away from what people say about you personally. I’m sure that’s easier said than done. The reason why I have so much respect for you is the fact you will actually go out and have a drink with your fans, you play video games with listeners of the show, and you do come and write on this message board. That is extremely rare in this business and perhaps you are the only one that takes it to this kind of level. I wish you all the luck in the world and I hope you continue to contribute to this message board. I need to lie down after that speech, or take a nice hot bath. | ||||
