| Psychopath Registered: Oct. 00  | I couldn't wait to try to download this game anymore so I went and picked it up today at Best Buy(only copy on the shelves at the store in Secaucus). I have to say its fucking awesome, even though I find it curious that it seems to run a little slow even though my machine is pretty built up and Max Payne can run beautifully on it. Must be some driver or something..but anyway I'm addicted already and I just stopped playing after a couple hours non-stop. How long will it be until one of you techie, graphic artist types make some skins of the O&A Crew? That would be pretty sweet. | ||||

I was able to download a copy of the game, it starts up fine, but about a minute in, the game crashes...anybody have any way to fix it, or a better crack of the game that works? | Psychopath Registered: Jan. 02 | You might already have thought of this, but maybe your vid-card is overheating...From reading the thread, seems as if it's a highly 3d-graphics-oriented game...Play for a few mins, your vidchips overheat and boom, game stalls...Used to happen to me with other games until I put a fan onto the vidcard... So much for this being a fantasy game...Seriously though, any of you PC players been able to pick up hookers? And, if so, what the fuck is wrong with me? FUCK OBX!!! | Psychopath Registered: Aug. 00 | FYI - This reply is for the PC version... Video Problems: Read the 'ReadMe' file in the 'Programs/Rockstar Games/gtaiii' folder. Also, play around with the video settings in the game (display setup - draw distance-level 6; framesync-off; frame limiter-off; trails-off). I had the same prob, but it runs fine now. Make sure you have DirectX 8.1 -(Microsoft) and your Vid Card drivers are up to date. Hooker Problems: You need to pull next to them slowly - they will walk to the car, bend down 4-5 times and then get in - take them to an alley or your hideout and stop - the car will start to rock and your health will go up. Now Im having probems with a mission. I forgot what its called but I have to get a briefcase with money - triads come from all angles and waste me. Any suggestions??? Cheats anyone? After you get the briefcase (and wait for the small movie to end) run to the alley exit blocked with a van... steal the van and go pick up a ho or find a health thingy in front of the hospital then come back and roast them. | O&A Board Regular Registered: Feb. 01 | Ok it took me a while to aquire this game but i finally did like 2 weeks ago. The radio stations are as good as the previous games were but i love the fact that its easier to actually change the station while you're driving. I think my favorite station is chatterbox with that guy Lazlow, cuz he is kinda like Opie with his attitude. Not as violent, but close. Anyway, I got pretty much to the end except im stuck on the mission where i have to save Maria. Is there a way to beat it easier? Cuz ill get like almost all the way up the stairs on helipad and i get shot to pieces by the Columbians before i can save her. any help would be much appreciated. Oh and also, how are you able to do the side missions for that guy near Joey's? i sat by the phone all day and it didnt ring once.  | ||||
