Psychopath Registered: Jun. 01 | Talk about pulling one out of your ass. That was a great finish to the game. I didn't expect that. I was about to change it and then york stuffed it in. The one thing I'm worried about is the rangers burning Richter out. Seems like every night he plays, he's stopping 40 to 50 shots a game. Thats gonna come back to haunt us.... O&A Board Regular Registered: Aug. 01 | Yeah, the Rangers should give Rchter a rest. But don't underestimate teams, especially the Canadiens lately. Last time I checked they were riding a 5 game win streak. They're playing the Isles right now and losing but still, they can come back. The Canadiens are good lately and are way better than last year, the Rangers shouldn't take them lightly.

O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | Well, I guess Richter didn't need rest. First shutout in over 200 games (I think 213). Excellent over all game. FLY line (MSG now calling them "Legion of Zoom"), Richter, Kloucek (16:27 played, 9 hits). It helped of course that Carolina is just as bad on special teams as Rangers, and I have no idea why Barraso started instead of Irbe. But no complaints. Great game. O&A Board Regular Registered: Dec. 00 | quote: Carolina must have been confused and thought that they were playing the Islanders, which apparently there is a League Rule this year that Starting Goaltenders can not play against the Islanders. And who said anything about taking Montreal lightly. Just because Blackburn would play against them doesnt mean they are taking them lightly. 1) Blackburn only seems to play against Good Teams 2) Blackburn is from the Montreal area and earlier this season he got his 1st NHL win by shutting down Montreal in Montreal. Blackburn will be playing in Montreal, and the Rangers will win.

O&A Board Regular Registered: Aug. 01 | I guess you're right. Blackburn does have talent, anyway, great game by the Rangersthe guys figured out Barrasso perfectly. Richter had a great game too, a decent number of shots given up, good game defensively.

O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | Again, Rangers get short end of ref's calls. Kloucek - I can possibly see a 5 minute for kneeing, but there was no way it should have been a match penalty. Leaves Blueshirts shorthanded at defense, especially since only 6 defensemen dressed to start. Wide open game. Some great stops by Blackburn, some outstanding saves by Theodore Best moment so far - Mike York answering montreal PP goal within 2 minutes. Game over - another solid win. Blackburn turning away more than 40 shots. Dvorak playing better than he has in quite a while. Karpa playing a good denfensive game. Good signs. O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | I missed most of the game, but looks like nice defensive effort. 2nd straight shutout for Richter, only facing 20 shots this time. Leetch gets game's only tally in the 3rd. Oh, by the way, it looks like Mike Keenan will take over tomorrow behind Florida Panther bench. Psychopath Registered: Jun. 01 | Another tough win. Just because it was the second straight game and 3rd in 4 nights. Seemed like both teams were about to drop. Who cares, Richter looked good and York dug one out of the corner for Leetch. One question, being that kloucek plays for us, maybe I'm bias, but is he that dirty of a player to the rest of the league? I don't think so, I think he's just a hard nosed player, big hitter that sometimes gets carried away and doesn't use his head. O&A Board Regular Registered: Dec. 00 | Kloucek is in no way a dirty player, that play against Montreal was incidental contact, a 2 minute minor nothing more. Once again the NHL laughs off these silly match penalties that get called against the Rangers. Now hopefully we can go get some revenge in Washington. Stay out of the box and they can do just fine. Heres the way the Goaltending should go this week, if Im running it. Tuesday at Washington- Richter Thursday vs. Toronto- Blackburn Saturday at Toronto- Richter.

O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | Today Campbell's office said even though it was originally listed as a match penalty, it wasn't. It was, however, a game misconduct, and I believe the next one merits a 1 game suspension. He also cleared Ulanov of the "sucker punch", but said that was not a match penalty. too little, too late.

O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | Not since the days of John Druce have I felt so nervous whenever the Blueshirts faced the Capitals. They've played fairly well this season except when they face the Capitals. I don't know if it is bad matchups or just coincidence, but I don't like this trend. By the By, Blackburn has the flu, so it will be Richter the next few.

O&A Board Regular Registered: Dec. 00 | Is there a problem with Dan Blackburn's Home jersey that he cant display it? I mean is he allowed to play a Home Game. Richter didnt have it tonight from what I hear. I did not see the game, but he was due for a game like this. But I am not secound guessing this. See a few posts up. Blackburn should have played tonight, with Richter on Saturday. If Blackburn really did have the flu, then ok, but I havent heard that anywhere else, and he did dress as the backup. They can correct their wrongs with a win in Toronto on Saturday, otherwise its a bad 3 game losing streak. On the up side, after Saturday, alot of home games coming up and against very beatable teams.

O&A Board Regular Registered: Aug. 01 | Another loss, atleast this game was better than the last one. The Rangers didn't pick it up until the 3rd period and were totally outplayed in the first two. Can't spill all the blame on Blackburn, he made some pretty key saves. It just wasn't our night.

O&A Board Regular Registered: Dec. 00 | Ron Low needs to implement a system where a guy simply wont play if he takes a stupid penalty. Dave Karpa drags down a guy behind the net in the offensive zone. These are the penalties you cant be taking, especially when the Rangers have such a hideous penalty kill. And that call on Fleury was a joke, where he got hooked into the goalie and made contact. He gets an interference call and of course Toronto scores. 7 Game Homestand now. 14 points for the taking. Lets get at very least 9, hopefully more.
