| O&A Board Veteran Registered: Feb. 01  | The sigs are getting way out of hand. It's stretching everything way too much, and I'm tired of seeing people enter entire book chapters in them. I don't want to have to post in every thread telling people to shrink their images or edit their text out. *Signature pictures should be no larger than 500 pixels and 30 kb. *If you do not have a signature picture, and are instead using a text sig, it must be limited to 6 total lines. Those six lines include any marquees, email addresses, adoptees, etc. *If you have a signature picture, your text underneath must be limited to 4 total lines. *You can not have more than one signature image. So pick one. If you have any little symbols or affiliations, merge them, or get rid of them. You will get one warning for sig guidelines. After that, you're up to moderator discretion. Froy means a total of 500 pixels total Thus you could have sigs with the following dimensions: 250x250 200x300 100x400 etc.. etc.... but NOT 500x500 The sum of the hieght and width should NOT exceed a total of 500 pixels  No! | O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | ok.. for those in the DUMB seats.... while I do understand the easily made mistake of assuming when I put "x" between two numbers in my previous post I mean it as a multiplier.. a little common sense sprinkled in there (along with the fact that I didn't say "square pixels") would allow a fellah to realize i was using the common shorthand used to refer to the word "by" when describing dimensions.. such as: 2x4 = Two "by" four. I suggest that everyone who isnt sure, takes a look at their picture's properties to make sure it follows the guidelines, and double checks their text to see if it needs editing if they have any. Even though your sig pic is within the demensions (221x272=493 pixels) the problem with your sig is the Size, you're sig is 180662 bytes, which is more than 6 times the limit...the limit is 30K (or 30,000) bytes. The problem with your file size is due to the format you saved your pic as. You used BMP (or Bitmap) file which is considerably larger than other common picture types. You're best bet is to copy your current sig and save it again as either a JPG or GIF file, then reattach it to your user profile after you've changed the format. For those of you who are uncertain about your SIG PIC properties, all you need to do to test your SIG is, right click on your sig then select propeties. A pop up should appear similar to the one below.  Again, if you have any questions concerning sig pic size (or content for that matter) ask your questions here or cantact a Moderator via E-mail or IM.
