Howard Stern Gets Roasted at Friar's -
Old-time comic Pat Cooper just can't stop talking about Howard Stern. We happened to be sitting near him at the Friar's Club luncheon last week as Cooper dissed the radio personality to fellow diners Joy Behar, Patty Hearst, and Jerry Orbach. Cooper boasted loudly of taking on Stern after a controversy in which the shock jock put a gag order on Opie and Anthony, a Howard-esque radio act who work for the same company as Stern, Infinity Broadcasting. "I said, 'Who are you to tell people what to say?' " Cooper fumed about the incident, in which Opie and Anthony were instructed not to utter Stern's name on-air. "How dare you?" The aged funnyman then attacked Opie and Anthony, saying, "When Infinity told them to back off, they turned into pussies." When Behar attempted to ask a question, Cooper yelped, "What is this, Jeopardy?" Behar explained, "We're just trying to follow you." A bit later, the funnyman's tablemates once again missed some point, forcing Cooper to ask, "Don't you read the fucking papers?" Finally, Cooper offered these words of wisdom to his luncheon crew: "I'm a man's man. I'm a man when I'm out with men. Now don't piss me off." Oh, but we must.

tell you the truth, i don't even know who he is and i don't really care. all i want to know is why people keep insisting on posting the same bullshit about this guy. he says the same thing everytime, so why bother posting it?

I posted it because it is in a Major magazine. Also, it was "overheard" at a lunch, so it wasn't like Cooper was talking to the magazine, he was just bullshitting to the people at his table. Lastly, I thought any O&A mention, good or bad, in a major magazine or newspaper, should be brought to the attention of the Board. Sorry if you all find it irrelevant. I found it interesting.

I'm sorry but that is incorect, i don't know if it was you or not. But my guess is that they quoted him incorectly.

Pat Cooper actually tried to stand up for O&A and bashed howard. What he was trying to say is that people need to figure out that howard is not a god and more people need to stand up to him. He said the following:

Now pat probably doesn't understand that ofcourse they tried to stand up to him and tried to get around the gag order. I don't think that was an insult. He is an old man and tough as they come and he thinks it's the old days.

Pat Cooper was on the Chaunce Hayden show a while back and he had the following to say.

Who is Howard to tell anybody anything? I’ll go on any show I want! I may be one of Howard’s best guest but I don’t socialize with him. I’m not his close friend. I do his show and I do him good and he does me good. That’s it. And if I want to go on Opie and Anthony then it’s none of his God Damn business! If Opie and Anthony calls me I’ll do their show tomorrow! Gag order? I’ll come after Howard Stern every day and bust his chops! I’ll put signs all over the God damn city. Sue me Howard Stern. Only you can do it? Only you can get a bull horn and go in front of people’s homes and ridicule them?
Let me tell you something. If Opie and Anthony want to talk about Howard Stern they won’t get fired because the public will back them up! This is America! Opie and Anthony are a bunch of pussy’s if they listen to that gag order! Nobody is going to put a gag order on me pal! They’re pussy’s! What are they scared of? They have a right! This is America my friend. If Opie and Anthony stand up to Howard Stern I will mention his name on their show every couple of seconds...Howard Stern, Howard Stern, Howard Stern. It's been said before, and I'll just mention it again for those who aren't paying attention.

1. Pat Cooper lost his major access to a large audience when Stern stop having him on his show.
