O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 ![]() | Yesterday he said that they would have an announcment soon involving Jim Norton. One could only speculate that he's going to be hired as part of the show. My only response to that is.....yeeeeaaaaaah!!!!! Pretty soon we're gonna have to call them the "untouchables" heh ![]() 2 POSITIONS OPEN FOR ADOPTEES [ AIM ] [ ICQ ] [ E-Mail ] "Ahahahhahaha...How sweet...Fresh meat!" - Robert Englund "Could you bend me over the console & say that?" - Jim Norton

Hanger-On Registered: Aug. 00 ![]() | I agree. I think they're better off having a rotation of guest comics. Remember when they first started having Dice come on. It was great at first, but after awhile, we needed a break from his act/routine.

O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 ![]() | Well, Norton already gets all the plugs he wants (remember - free plugs for life as a gift for being on the Voyeur Bus)... but hired to the show... who won't compare that to Howard and Martling? Including Howard himself. Wouldn't be shocked to see this fuel a little "hoo hoo... I invented hiring a comedian". The difference is... Jackie wrote Howard's jokes for him. The boys are funny themselves, and Norton adds things as himself, not as a writer. ![]() Me droogies: Noellevious.... she's made me so proud. Two positions available. Come and get one in the yarbles.... if you have any yarbles.

One can never get too much off the wall obscure references (the man is a genius).Besides kid touching comments and AIDS jokes always funny. The only downside is he might give the boys the HIV but i heard he is over that now. howie, martling....AWFUL!!!! An homage to the funniest comedian on the planet...Jay Mohr!!!!

O&A Board Regular Registered: Dec. 00 ![]() | Hiring Norton is a no brainer. Norton has the ability to pick his spots perfectly. He can sit in silence for an hour and suddenly come out with the line of the show. Just think of the next time the boys are mulling over a contest idea, now having Norton's on air input. Some of you hate him because he's there every day, but its not like he hogs the show, steals the show YES, but doesn't hog it.

O&A Board Regular Registered: Dec. 00 ![]() | I dont know, but wouldnt Norton make more money as a stand-up comic? Unless it becomes the Opie, Anthony and Norton show and he recieves the same amount the boys do, i think it would be more beneficial for him to continue the stand-up work instead of the writing job he'll most likely be getting. In any case, please ignore my previous statement, as i am most likely talking out of my ass.

O&A Board Regular Registered: Dec. 00 ![]() | seph, I'm not sure how much it would effect his standup. Its almost like a side gig. I may be talking out of my ass, but I'm pretty sure Norton does most of his standup work Fri,Sat&Sun. So, this is probably easy for him to fit in.

O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 ![]() | quote: I have to agree with stuff on this one. Sure, I like Norton, i find him fucking hilarious. But, Norton as a mainstay on the show?? I dont know about that. Maybe its cause i yearn too much for the past, i dont know. But, wont this affect the way they goof on things? No longer will Anthony be the one to comment on certain topics by using his voice goofs, because Norton will be there adding his stuff in. It might disrupt the flow of the bit at that time. But hey, if Norton does become a main part of the show, good for him. It wont take me away from this car wreck of a show thats for sure. :)

Psychopath Registered: Aug. 01 ![]() | I don't think perma-Norton is going to affect the appearence of other comics. He seems to know when to let other guys to come up with the zingers. I like hearing his comments, and he's the best at handleing moron callers. As far as his stand-up goes, he doesn't seem to work out of the immediate area too much. They also may work something out where he gets time off to do road gigs. "Somebody took my phone number and called Afghanistan. Afghanistan! I've never talked to anyone in Afghanistan, I don't know nobody in Afghanistan, and even if did know anyone, I wouldn't talk to that Afghan ass for three hours! I won't talk to my daddy for three hours."

Psychopath Registered: Oct. 00 ![]() | Norton working for the show is great for him and the show, he's a funny mother fucker. Its been stated in other posts and I agree that If he becomes the third member of the team then I dont like it. Aids and kid toucher jokes always funny but not everyday. Remember they were going to hire Chuck but they let the Radio Chick have him and they probaly wanted to hire Jay, He was on the show in 1999 and early 2000 almost Everyday. I hope they use Norton right and he dosent fuck up the flow of shows. Norton rules, so I think it will workout for the best.

O&A Board Regular Registered: Sep. 00 ![]() | Norton's Type of comedy: Sick and tiwsted. Martling's type of comedy: Tasteless and pointless. Norton: always funny. Martling: Never funny, never was. Norton: Hangs out for fun of it. Also put his ass (literally) on the line for the show. Knows when to let the guest comedian have his time. Martling: Was a writer for Howard's show. Never wanted to take a risk or took a bullet for the team. Too insecure, always cut in on guests' time. BOTTOM LINE Norton a welcome addition, Good riddance to Martling. ![]() There are 3 types of leaders and heroes.
