| Hanger-On Registered: Oct. 01  | I just wanted to post a message I posted in the alt.fan.don-n-mike newsgroup...But just to let yall know, I'm in DC and listen to WJFK and Don and Mike need to retire...I am so glad to have O&A in D&M's old slot, as they are Infinity's future...Anyway, any comments on this post I posted in the newsgroup about Opie's rant about puke and bowling comments? I would like to get the opinion from true O&A fans... Could Opie's openly pissed attitude about a "puke-smelling" studio, and jokes about "bowling a few frames" be an inside work betweeen D&M and O&A to bring up ratings ? After all, Opie kept overly stressing the studio stank. He also was "unaware" why the studio stank when he came in...He asked people to call in to explain, he asked others in the building if they knew (Earl) what was going on. It just seemed as if Opie wanted to make people know that the seeds of war are being planted. Wouldn't a war between both crews help drive up ratings for D&M in NYC and O&A in DC? On the other hand, maybe Don has done something that has seriously ruffled Opie's feathers at NEW, or by being program director and screwing with the O&A show somehow behind the scences at JFK, and Opie found an opening to launch an attack...Maybe he launched the attack on his own without conspiring with Don to bring DC ratings up... I may be way off and this issue is never mentioned again on either show...Unless someone calls Don up and lets him know of the apparent diss... But something seems suspicous here... Don & Mike, in an effort to spread the word about their "number-one-rated" show, went to a bowling alley in East Jabibsville, LI to promoted themselves in the NY area. Considering the history (D&M expected to take over O&A's time slot), Opie is just slowy packing fodder into the cannons. The dogs of war are ready, but is Infinity. After D&M are gone (remember, O&A always win in the end), all that's left is, well, hoo-hoo! Just another victim that doesn't know it yet... This is ice. They do impersonations just for the sake of doing impersonations even though both of them suck at it. Rocco and Matty are better than these two.  | ||||

| Hanger-On Registered: Sep. 01 | The reason they say that the time slots were moved is because WJFK wanted to get rid of G Gordon Liddy. I think they felt if they threw D and M in the middle of the day it would keep people from changing stations when Liddy came on. Also, Liddy pissed off many a WJFK client eg. bleeping out the words "Washington Post". To be quite honest. O and A are not real popular here in DC. They seem to gain a listener one day and piss him off the next. D and M are the original DC gang, even before Stern was here so it is going to take a lot out of O and A to totally run them off the board. If you want facts, you will realize that D and M used to kick ass in armitron ratings until they got moved. If you listen to both shows you will realize that Don has a lot of pull now at WJFK with his new title and all, and I am sure he was one of the deciding factors to bring O and A to thier timeslots. D and M and O and A will alwyas be enemies. The only reason why D and M have gone to full battle with O and A is because they work together up in New York. One day it will happen and O and A better be ready. They do consider each others as somewhat enemies to promote the shows, it's called marketing. Shaka brah.... | ||||
