| I am a Marine stationed Washington D.C. It doesn't surprise me that the D.C. listeners bailed on O&A. They have been exposed to sub-par radio programming for so long, they didn't know good programming when it kicked them in the balls.
I know Don and Mike were #1 in the area, but they were terrible. The only thing Don ever did was call someone a douche bag and hang up on people who beat him in an intelligent arguement. All Mike and Buzz ever did was agree with whatever Don said. I can't stand those two fat-bodies. I listened to Sports Radio in the afternoons until I heard them come on the air after Stern, which was where Liddy used to Broadcast. Then I tuned in to WJFK to see who was on in Don & Mike's old spot. I am so glad I did. Finally some decent radio!!! O&A KICK ASS!!! I am telling everyone I know to tune in. Most are Marines and not from this gutter (Wash. D.C.) so O&A will have a few loyal fans until the rest of the Washingtonians decide to tune in.
One good thing about the drop to #11 is Don and Mike can't claim they are the reason for O&A's success. Those fat turds are always blowing each other's... horns.
Don't get offended, just my opinion.

| whats with the hostility towards DC, sure down south and west is dominated by inbred hicks but northern virginia is a mass of white suburbia, legions of spoiled rich kids are waiting for a outlet..... i've got nothing against D&M, but their antics are getting predictable...give it some time and the O&A army will be a force in the WJFK area

| I appreciate what you guys have said. Though, I don't think Don and Mike are completely bad. They try. They did a bit with Rob Spee calling in as Darryl Johnston, and it was pretty funny. The DC listeners are just like the NY listeners. They are not used to this brand of radio. O & A are not like other Jockey's. They shoot from the hip. They don't plan their bits, it's spontaneous.
In any other city(not just DC) they would be perceived the same way. Cleveland radio has blown for the last 5 years, from what I have heard. Boston was just waiting for O & A to comeback. Philly is the only unexpected thing, I thought they would be pricks forever, but they love the show like we do(tri-state area people). They just got hooked like the rest of us.
It's like the ad says: O & A are like crack, we just want more.

| I'm sorry but if all I had to look forward to on the radio was Don and Mike I would tune in to O+A every second.

| I have tried to listen to D&M quite a few times... when they were on after O&A (when they were still on tape delay) the show was impossible to listen to... but since the move to Middays they have become more tolerable... or maybe i'm just growning desensitized to them... anyway, the only time when I actually enjoyed listening to D&M was during the week or so after 9-11-01. They sounded very professional and I respected them for that... but now, since they have returned to their "brand of humor", I find myself drifting between station while they are on... they just don't hold my attention.
As far as O&A growing in DC...only time will tell

| Wjat sucks about don and mike is the callers...they are the inbred white trash. when they arent calling to kiss d&m's ass, they are doing bad bits. O&A make the callers an intregal part of the show and make it interactive. they are totally counter-progressive o D&M.

| yea, the majority of o&a callers actually have a brain in their heads and usually know what to say and what not to. if the boys had alotta d&m type callers, the show would definitley suffer...

| Guys,
I have been a loyal O&A fan since the summer of 99 in NY; unfortunately, I had to move here (DC) in the fall of 99 for law school, and until SU, really missed the guys. After being in DC for about 2 and a half years, and comparing the people here to NYC, there is one unescapeable conclusion one can draw: Washingtonians (and Northern Virginers, or NOVA), are rubes. Plain and simple. They are, for the most part, very unsophisticated, and lack the experience, cynicism, and depravity of New Yorkers (and most East-Coasters) that make O&A humor that much funnier.
Of course there are exceptions to every rule, and, hopefully, DC will come around. But you can't discount the fact that D&M were so huge down here--and they really suck donkey balls. It isn't so much that D&M were popular b/c nothing else was around; rather, it was because that is the intellegence/humor level of most of Washington natives. It may just take time, unfortunately. But a road show wouldn't hurt.

| What do you expect in DC?
Two white guys in their 40s making fart jokes, always funny in that area, and I'll never understand why.
Oh well, onto other things.
There's a method to my madness.
