| Psychopath Registered: Feb. 02  | As a Boston listener, I did enjoy Anthony's well-deserved rant against WAAF's latest pathetic promotion where they play years-old clips of O and A bashing WBCN (the Boston station that plays them now). However, Anthony also mentioned that WAAF fans were stupid enough to believe Rocko's fake wedding and Rocko's fake choosing of Matty... I can honestly say that I don't know ONE person who ever believed these Rocko stunts were real. Especially at the time of Matty's "random" selection, many WAAF fans (including myself at the time) were criticizing how pathetic the whole phony bit was. When I used to listen to Rocko's show, it had nothing to do with Rocko. He sucked when he had Birdsey and he sucks even more now. But I did enjoy WAAFs music selection. Likewise, I think people listen to WAAF not for the terrible on-air staff, but for the music. SO while WAAF deserves to be bashed by O and A, I have to say that I don't think the listeners are stupid enough to buy Rocko's BS. However, I still think Opie and Anthony are far more entertaining than any music program. "Weaselling is all part of human nature! | Hanger-On Registered: Jan. 70 | I'm from Boston too, but I stopped listening to AAF when O&A left. Mostly becuase I moved out of the suburbs of Boston and actually into the city. It's very difficult to get the station now. I still listen sometimes, but not really enough to now about their music selection. In my mind, FNX plays the best music in Boston, and BCN plays the worst. I had no idea that AAF was playing O&A clips. I'll have to listen to that, since they were better on AAF than they are now. Is it a specific time that they do it, or just randomly through the show?  New Poster with a question? AIM me | ||||

Personally, I think WAAF plays great music and I think the Hillman crew and Mistress Carrie do great jobs as DJs, but the station has really embarassed itself this time. Playing sound bites from years ago and trying to make them relevant is ridiculous, as is bashing BCN for being all talk when O and A's ratings prove we don't mind an all-talk program. While I do enjoy the syndicated O and A show, I agree with you that they were funnier back in their WAAF days. Personally, I miss the "Hey, Mom" contests that always cracked me up. | Hanger-On Registered: Dec. 01 | Well I'm defending what Anthony said because I've been to the WAAF board and they go on and on about how this station sucks and that station sucks and how O & A suck now that they're on BCN....blah, blah, blah. Does it really matter what station they're on ?? They kick ass. If they feel like they need to be loyal to that station then fine, but to compare it to BCN and Rocko & Matty to O & A.....well, there just is no comparison. Nuff said. | ||||

| Psychopath Registered: Feb. 02 | Now WAAF's lastest attempt to raise Shlocko's ratings is during the high rated "Hillman Morning" show, they keep playing Rocko and Matty blurbs and encourage listeners to tune in that afternoon. The only problem with this marketing strategy is that the Rocko clips are never funny... Comparing the ratings for Opie and Anthony vs. Rocko is kind of like swatting a fly with a Sherman Tank...
