| O&A Board Regular Registered: Dec. 01  | Hoo Hoo! I did it first. **Edit** I don't know what IAMANTHONY's latest knock of the board was all about. I assume he's still fuming that some of us choose to criticize the show when we hear something we don't like. I rememember some of the spots I've heard when they were first syndicated in Philly. Some of them went something like this: "Hey I know that sometimes we suck. We admit it." (I think it was Opie that said it) So why can't we say it sometimes. Besides it's not like were completely bashing these guys 100% of the time. Don't we have sig contests and "freak" tornaments and the like in honor of their show? Don't some of us pay our fair share of compliments when they do something cool? Fucking ingrates.  Nobody fucks with Dice, Dice does the fuckin! | O&A Board Veteran Registered: Feb. 01 | Listen, I spoke to both the guys after the show for about things, and I'll make it simple. They're tired of the senseless negativity. They don't like the feeling that this place has been giving off for the past few months. There's a big difference between criticizing, or offer constructive criticism and bitching just for the sake of bitching. It seems that as of late, regardless of whether the guys do 20 great bits, a lot of people only care about the 1 crappy bit. And instead of there being 20 threads about the 20 great bits, and only one about the one that tanked, it's reversed. This is supposed to be a fan site, a place for the show and the fans to come together both literally and figuratively. When the sole purpose of the forum is for people to harp on the negative and bitch for no reason, then a lot of the fun is lost. Both of the guys read the board still, and when the site becomes a bit more positive and more oriented about discussing the show then things we will get our support back. It will take some time, but we will be a part of the O & A family again. Show support is what set this site apart, and it's what can keep this place thriving. Don't give me any of the censorship or kissing ass bullshit, because unless you know everything that's going on you really don't have a leg to stand on. Nobody says you have to like every bit and agree with everything that happens on the show, but when you come to a fan site you expect to see fans interacting and having fun, not crying and whining about how things aren't as good as they used to be, how everything sucks, how big of assholes you think the guys are, etc.  I believe in the Faith... that can save me. I believe in the hope and I pray... That someday it may raise me... above these badlands Over The Limit | ||||

The little rant that Ant made pissed me off to no end, i've been through this in other threads and I could say it til my fingers start to bleed from typing this drivel. Some stars (please, O and A are not there yet) pay plenty of fucking money to hear some critism on how to IMPROVE whatever they are doing. If ant wants to bash us, or call us a trash hole...LET EM. But like it or not he is on the front page and is the mod of SU. He should have a little respect for the position and try somethin a little more then bashing openly on the air to 18 fucking cities to improve the place he is a part of. That simple. I have the utmost respect for Norton because he stood up for the board and actually gave us a compliment (god forbid:) ) Whatever, I'm tired of this subject and the bullshit that goes along with it. Unfortunately they have to generalize. When Ant says backstabbers, he doesn't mean everyone. But since he can't single people out, we all get lumped into the same boat. Don't let that get to you. Just realize that they're usually not referring to the true fans and the majority of the people here, just a few people who give the rest of us a bad name. Yeah it's unfair, but that's just the way it goes sometimes. I take it more personally than any of you, but I know he isn't talking about me, and he isn't talking about 99.9% of you guys. This feeling won't last, but it starts from the bottom up. I believe in the Faith... that can save me. I believe in the hope and I pray... There are plenty of threads that come up from people who obviously have nothing good to say about the board. They happen all the time. It probably is the same four or five people who just love Stern/D&M/Rocko/whoever and they just bash O &A. Sure you fight with them at first, but after a while you realize it's pointless and you just try and ignore them becuase they just keep coming back keep coming back keep coming back. No matter how many times they leave, they just come with a new name and start over again. What the fuck are we supposed to do? Get in a messageboard fight with ever Stern clone who comes in shitting on the show? Fuck that noise. It gets frustrating and engaging them is the worst thing to do. That will just invite more. Those are the only "BASHes" that I've seen regarding the show. There have been some posts and threads complaining about specifically: * The horribleness of their drawn out contests. The Naughty Nighty contest was radio (and board) Cancer in my opinion. The "qualifying" of the 55-Gallon Drum contest was equally horrific. I didn't listen to the actual contest, but apparently everyone else liked it. So that's cool. But in my opinion, their contests have sucked complete ass, and that's just that. I don't think that issue has been harped on (definately been commented about) from the hardcore, or even casual listeners. Just the bashers. * How great O and A were before syndication as opposed to now. The reason that most people cite on the board are the same ones that the guys cite on the show. Corporate shackles (or selling out: either way same reason). The dump guy, the bans on great bits and contests like (WIMP, Offensive Song, and various words). For whatever reason, the guys have watered down the show since syndication. They talk about it, they realize it, they complain about it. It's just fact. How is that a complaint? But fucking deleting threads remembering some of the greatest bits of the show becuase someone's name is mentioned is ABSOLUTELY FUCKING CHILDISH AND HYPOCRITICAL). And it's not going to help the attitude of the board. * Norton sucks get rid of him. That thread used to come up a lot, but it has actually died down a bunch. And the only person who has had actual nasty threads about him, is the one person who isn't acting like an infant about the whole thing. Becuase he knows that the overwhelming consensus of the board is that he's an asset. Some people disagree but the vast majority of people like Norton and the majority of the posts reflect that. That's it. Where else is the negativity coming from? Look at the board. How many "negative" threads are there about the show? In the first two pages, only Ikea's thread could be described as "negative" and it was immediately rebuffed The negativity that is always coming up? They're clones, they rip off blah blah blah. Only posted by people who hate them and have no business to be here. They aren't actual posters, and that shit shouldn't count as posts. I think it's these posts that really are giving the board a bad name becuase the bashers are so vocal, and posts 20 times a day and just pollute the board. Yet for some unknown reason, the countless posts of idiots whose sole purpose is to bash the show remain, while posts that mention "Spaz" get deleted and the person who wrote it gets banned. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah. Bullshit. You want to improve the attitude of the board, get rid of those posts and those posters immediately. You want to make things worse? Make it a police state where great bits can't be mentioned because someone has stick up his ass about a personal matter that has nothing to do with this board or its posters. That can ONLY breed contempt for the board and the person who is responsible.  New Poster with a question? Hell, I don't like bits they do, I don't enjoy some spots or guests, and I have never hid that fact or refrained from saying that publicly. Nobody says you should. But when everytime they do a bit you just sit there and post 'This sucks' you're not even making a point. And OAAWITE, I agree with you on a lot of those points. And we're going to try and do a better job of cleaning up the crap, the re-hashed theads and Stern/DM invaders. That's a big priority. I believe in the Faith... that can save me.
