The "link" on D&M's website does not go to the actual washingtonpost.com website, its a mockup with a bullshit article written in, we know this because... 2. If you neotrace the article links IP address, it leads to some server out in Texas, if you neotrace www.washingtonpost.com, its hosted in (DUH!) DC. 3. Go to www.washingtonpost.com search the 26th's archives for this story, its not there 4. The D&M site was either hacked, or some idiot took that link at face value, either way its 100% bullshit. I mean it was reported on cnn.com This is the story that was emailed to me when I filled out the email story form: VOORHEES, N.J. -- The Rev. Carl McIntire, 95, the fiery radio preacher whose unswerving right-wing views won him a loyal following but put him at odds with federal regulators, died here March 19. The cause of death was not reported. At the height of his popularity in the 1960s, his "Reformation Hour" radio program was broadcast on more than 600 stations. He amassed legions of followers preaching fundamentalist Christianity and conservative politics, battling communism and the Federal Communications Commission. He opposed gambling, gay rights and sex education, fluoridated water and labor unions, modernism and socialism. Mr. McIntire twice found his own denomination too left-leaning, leaving to form other arms of the Presbyterian Church. He left Princeton Theological Seminary for similar reasons and graduated from Westminster Seminary in Glenside, Pa., in 1931. His first church was in Atlantic City, where he preached until 1933. But his pulpit was everywhere. He delivered sermons on the famous resort's Boardwalk alongside Baptist and Methodist ministers. A newspaper reporter dubbed them "the Three Horsemen of the Apocalypse." Not long after being named pastor of a 1,200-member Presbyterian church in Collingswood, N.J., Mr. McIntire broke with his denomination and formed the Presbyterian Church of America. In 1948, after he lost a court battle to hold on to the building, he and his congregation marched from it to a tent erected in a nearby field. Finding even that denomination too liberal, he broke again and established Bible Presbyterian Church, setting up shop in Cape May, N.J., in 1962. There, he purchased the Christian Admiral Hotel, which he turned into a retreat center. Amid other ideological battles, Mr. McIntire fought fiercely against beach fees. A 1970s battle with the FCC irrevocably changed his ministry, which included radio stations and a publishing arm. The FCC accused him of violating its Fairness Doctrine by refusing to air competing viewpoints, and he was taken off the air in 1973. He later broadcast for a short time from a "pirate" broadcast station aboard a converted World War II minesweeper in Delaware Bay, but the Coast Guard shut him down. He sought tax-exempt status for his Cape May real estate holdings, but the U.S. Supreme Court refused to hear the case. Mr. McIntire, who had lived in Collingswood since 1939, retired three years ago as Bible Presbyterian Church pastor. His wife of 61 years, Fairy D. Davis McIntire, died in 1992.
