I think the idea behind Opie's volume at the beginning of the show is to inject some energy into the listening audience. It sets the stage for the show as being upbeat and lively, and god knows the New York audience needs a wake-up call after four hours of Dumb & Mike. -- I just liked the above quote - it speaks volumes of the recent nonsense. If you are not squeezing out a loaf, please let someone else make the pumpernickel... ------ ...Opie shouting and getting excited over useless guests. Especially on their intros.... ...Complaning about management (we all know you are not going to change format). Relax... ...Cutting Jim Norton's mic. His thoughts and rants are far more interesting than anything than Rick, Stinky, or any other flunky, has to say. He is an improvisational genius. Get his EVERY word recorded. ... Sticker stops. There's nothing funny about a couple of fat morons anymore. O&A milked those two raging wastes of estrogen for all they're worth. Time to move on. Frenchy could have been shipped off to the foreign legion right up until his fight in the studio with Opie. That spot rejuvenated his character and they've been wise to keep his appearances minimal since. Personally, I'd like to see all comic songs banished from the show but I don't think that's ever going to happen. I'm also part of the minority of this board who doesn't find Brian Regan and Steven Lynch to be particularly funny. Jim Norton, however, is hilarious and compliments the show beautifully. But at least they're still trying to keep it fresh, unlike some morning shock jocks... For me, playing CDs ahead of time, like with Eminem, is getting old. The boys know they won't get any more than a token punishment. If there was a real chance they'd get in trouble, it would be interesting. But what's really getting old for me are the people on this board who bash anyone who makes a negative comment. Geesh, leave it alone, guys. Saying something negative doesn't mean I or anyone else hates O & A; it just means we can think critically about the show instead of blindly worshipping it. | ||||
