I am sick of this Opie and Anthony Fight versus don and mike. One show sucks in NY, and the other sucks in DC. These two shows act like they don't get the same paycheck from the same company and they constantly have battled eachother. The victims of this battle are their ratings on both coasts, and it's just ridiculous to not at least pretend that you like the show on your station. Basically, this whole thing is about four children with egos the size of planets, doing a fucking pissing contest off of a bridge. Fuck this whole thing. Both shows entertain me, one much more than the other, but unlike the hardcore fans of both shows, I read between the lines and see that both fucking shows do their own "our shit don't stink" spins. Between what these shows both say, there is the real truth.  "You don't know who I am? Fool! Don't make me bitch-slap you!" | ||||

| Hanger-On Registered: Apr. 02 | There is a clear difference in "brand of humor" between the shows - O&A reflect a younger, more progressive audience while D&M control the baby boomer demographic. IMO - D&M will be ripped to shreads perpetuating a battle with O&A - I don't think they can hang with the intensity and harshness of the O&A response. Have to wait and hear this afternoon -  | ||||

| O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | I assume you are talking about O&A & D&M themselves, and not fans. The fact that they work for the same company is irrelevant (See Stern vs everyone). Remember also that the Yankees of the late '70's won World Series together, but they hated each other. Same was said of Oakland A's of early 70's. There are issue between the two shows, mostly relating to ego (which is not uncommon with media people). If the story is true (or even if they think its true) that D&M tried to knock O&A out of the afternoon drive before the contract was re-upped, then I could understand why O&A would would dislike D&M; If D&M feel that they should be in the afternoon drive because of their history and body of work, then I can understand why they dislike O&A. Normally all of this goes on behind closed doors, but both shows have a history of discussing issues in the public forum. Is it good? probably not. Will it stop? also probably not.  2002 Crack Committee Objectives: (You gotta believe....) 1. 94 Wins and NL East Title by the Mets this year 2. Hate the Braves with PASSION 3. | O&A Board Regular Registered: Aug. 01 | - O&A are very funny, and i always listen if it is humanly possible. (this applies to Ron and Fez as well) - Don and Mike are rarely funny. whenever i have listened, at least 1/2 of the show was spent either yelling at callers, talking to frita, or talking about their boring lives. i have, on occasion, found them funny during actual bits that dont involve them, because i dont like them as people. -Don and Mike suck in New York. -O&A are doing better in DC, but not as good as D&M were. Don and Mike say AGAIN that they were the part of the war that extended the olive branch and they're the passive ones in this fight.
