| O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00  | It has been stated in other threads and I apologize for starting this one. Yes, Don and Mike have been intersting in the last 2 days for the first time in 2 and a half years. They stopped talking about O&A today for a while and I realized why i stopped tuning in. I hope to god, O&A don't even mention them on Tuesday. That will piss Don and Mike off even more. They can do subtle things like the crying baby and cartman bitch tirades during the opening but dont even mention it. If a Don and Mike caller calls, put them through. Just say, they can do their show and we will do our show. Don't get angry, just make these losers look stupid by not getting into an argument. On the board, let all the assholes post. If mods can, put most of these in the junkyard and if you guys are smart, don't even respond or post nicely and responsibly to these tools and after a few days they will just go away. By getting angry we are playing right into their hands. Sometimes the best offense is just laying low and let the other guy burn out. Don and Mike and their fans are not worth the time or the effort. The show sucks. We know it sucks. Listen to other things like cd's or Strawberry has said, Rush Limbaugh. try give sports talk a try. Just don't listen to Don and Mike. We all know static is more interesting. Just let the feud die. Don and Mike and their fans are desperate and looking for attention. It's best if we and especially O&A don't give it to them.  | ||||

O&A will ignore their pitiful efforts to get attention and we should do the same. Sometimes things are better left unsaid. Let them just "die" on their own. The more we respond, the more they grow. | Psychopath Registered: Dec. 00 | Agreed! The best thing to do (ATTENTION ANYBODY WITH AN ARBITRON DIARY) is just ignore them. Let them fade away, off WNEW. What amazes me is just ho out of touch D&M have come off as the last couple of days. One thing that come to mind right away were the bashing of Ant's "15 year old" girlfriend. Whether I'm 25 or 45, I'd prefer an attractive woman to an old lady. Another was the talk of D&M moving back to the 3-7 spot in DC and O&A moving to WHFS, a hard rock station. Wouldn't that be a better situation for O&A and the DC listeners? I would think so. I am guilty of listening to D&M on Friday, but I didn't hear the actual thursday comments. I'm all set from now on. Let them talk away. I hope O&A just sit back and hardly make acknowledgment so that D&M are off of WNEW and WYSP (and who knows what will happen with some of the other markets...if D&M were to go back to 3-7 so of the weaker AM affiliates of O&A might switch to D&M which could make an O&A FM station available). Then, they can have their way with them AFTER they are off. There's no need to give them attention now.  | ||||

Wouldn't it be a tad (okay hugely) hypocritical for them to then ignore D&M and their taunts? I don't see a way for the boys to get out of this one without it being reallll ugly. | O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | The difference is that O&A have the higher ratings in both situations. D&M's NY ratings are next to non existant. By them taslking and arguing about them it will continue and Don and Mike will gain O&A listeners to see what happens next. That is exactly what they want. They know this is there only shot at ratings in NY. If o&A ignore them, they will go away and no one will care. Rocko stole their jobs and they had a vendetta against him. I think it is more similar to what Howard is doing with O&A. Why should Howard give O&A ratings. He just ignores them. the difference there is that they are both in NY, share a similar audience and Howard is messing with them and copying their bits, whatever. Howard is the top dog, albeit fading, but still the top dog. He does not need a war with O&A, just like O&A don't need a war with Don and Mike. | ||||

It was so obvious when I tuned in for the 2pm hour on Friday. As for Rocko, O&A wanted to kill his ratings and get Dave Dickless and him FIRED. They are about to accomplish that. That was a war they actually wanted. This war with D&M, you're right again Teen, just goes up there with Howie. Now there is no war. Just stupid bullshit that Stern's cronies start with us and when he steals O&A ideas sometimes. Now I should just mention, like I have in the past, I don't, and never did, listen to Howie in the morning. Give me a break, it's the summer ratings period coming up, this is huge for radio. O&A have nothing to worry about. From the way it sounds, D&M has one ratings period to get their ratings up or they are gone. That's why this whole thing started. This is 100% for ratings. They realize that if they piss O&A and the listeners we will listen to their show to hear what they say, and talk about it at length. The thing I found funny was they said we're going to prove to their listeners that they are not numher 1 in the same book that we are. I started listening before they were number 1 and I listen after. Hell ever station in NY is the number 1 something.They can be the number Extreme talk station for all I care.
