I've agreed with Norton on the subject of Ozzy all along, until today. I've been a huge Ozzy fan since I was 7 years old, when I heard my first Sabbath tune. I've seen Ozzy live many times. I must say that every time I see him, the show has lost a little something more. He is still my all time favorite, but to say that he's simply the best live performer today is absolutely ridiculous. He's past his prime and should have hung it up 5 years ago when he still rocked hardcore.

I totally understand where lil Jimmy is coming from on this one, but he is wrong. He sounds like he's been brainwashed.

Little Jimmy is way off base on this one. I got my favorite bands and I think they should bow out gracefully(ex.KISS) Ozzy is a broken man and tired, he's not gonna put on a good show. And there are other bands that put on a better show than Ozzy.

Ozzy might not be as lively on stage as he used to be, but his shows do still kick ass....But he is by far not the best out there....

Slipknot's shows are fucking insane, Eminem, like him or hate him, does a great show, Pantera is just plain sick, Slayer will always reign in terms of pure energy, System of a Down does a great mix of their songs that always keeps the energy high.....Just to name a few bands that kill Ozzy's stage show

There is an idea of a Gomez; some kind of abstraction. But there is no real me: only an entity, something illusory. And though I can hide my cold gaze, and you can shake my hand and feel flesh gripping yours and maybe you can even sense our lifestyles are probably comparable... I simply am not there.

Lots of debauchery at Buffalo's T&A with O&A show, a guy called in still stupified from it and said "I'm glad I don't have any girls" or "I hope I never have a girl"... and Norton said approximately "Actually, now I want a daughter! Hudla hudla!"

I was yelling at my radio. I was really on norton's side until his ignorance started to show. I LOVE Sabbath, I still play their first six albums. But calling U2 a sabbath ripoff??? And putting down the Seattle scene like it was some fad???

That is being real generous. I'd have to go back as far as; owwwwwwwwwwwwwww bark at the moon. The 'new' Ozzy is just a comic book of his former self, a good laugh. He ruled with Sabbath in their time.

I was surprised Jim couldn't see how commercialized Ozzy has become. He and Op arguing was pretty damn funny though.

ICP. I don't like them, but their show is nuts. Anything remotely resembling Mummenschanz is insane, hence their name.

I'm with Norton 100%, but you know his argument was starting to fade when he was using Friends episodes to prove his point.

I'm gonna disagree with Norton.
Motorhead as old as Ozzy but nowhere near as tired as Ozzy is.
and U2 is in their own league as well as Led Zepplin.

Does anybody really think Ozzy, right now, is a better live performer than Kid Rock? If you believe that you are either sick, on drugs or named Jim Norton.

Ok. If you really think that KISS is done please get your whole head infront of the shotgun. We have not seen the last of those aged rockers. As long as Gene is alive he will drag the rest out to cash in.

I like Ozzy too, BUT, I know a lot of people that have went and/or are going to one of this years Ozzfest show... When asked who they are excited to see play, I am sorry to say, their anwser has never been, " I am going to see Ozzy"

It is always one of the other acts they are going to see.

I honestly think they can't drag more out of it than they already have. Unless they just take the make up off cause that's even getting tired. I am a huge KISS fan but even I think it's time they give it up. This is what killed them in the 80's..oversaturation.

.... At least he's smart enough to go out with a few bands who people want to see .... I had tickets to see the first show at Nissan Pavilion and I sure as hell wasn't going to see Ozzie not that I wouldn't have minded .... P.O.D. and System are definitely the big sellers this year at Ozzfest ....

Looks like Lil'Jimmy has been smoking crack, he is way to loyal to Ozzie to see it.

It would be nice to see old rockers bow out gracefully before all are embarrassed.

Having seen U2, they do put on an awesome show. Worth every penny and three days of hearing loss. (Tenth row on the floor!)

However Bono can be a dick, so I do see Norton's point of view.

Opie nailed Norton badly. Pay back for the opening joke?

i respect norton's opinion much more than young mr. skateboard opie. how many times have you noticed that opie mentions "thats executioners w lincoln park" or some other new song coming in from a break...like he has to prove it to you he knows all these new bands.. i dont know one person opie's age (40, not 25 like he wants you to think) who listens to korn or andrew d k. at least jimmy is honest.
as far as norton losing his mind about ozzy, hey thats the beauty of him

I like Ozzy's solo material and I love Sabbath but I can think of dozens of bands that just make Ozzy look all of his 54 years on stage. I don't agree with Opie in what he said about Ozzy being just an "ok" show, it's better than ok but I don't think Ozzy even compares to System in terms of performance or energy on stage. If any of you are going to any upcoming Ozzfest dates, check out Hatebreed, Glassjaw and The Used. Most of the mainstage blows this year.

And Ozzy definitely isn't the main draw for Ozzfest. The majority of the crowds at these shows are mostly teenagers and younger adults and SOAD, Zombie and POD definitely are the top draws in those particular age groups. Ozzy headlines because he's a rock legend not because he's up to date and people are just pissing themselves in anticipation to see him clap and repeat the same few phrases over and over to show his appreciation to the audience.

I am very well aware of the energy of other bands and of Ozzy's slowing down over the years. I am a fan for whatever reason, I really don't know. I really don't care either. I love him and will not yield one inch. I am completely aware, and unconcerned, with what an out of touch ass I sound like. Regardless of what Ozzy does, I am still a silly, blubbery titted goose.

What about a band that still tours who is is old as Ozzy, Aerosmith. My wife loves them and I went to their concert at the Meadowlands a few months ago and they were great and it was sold out.

My favorite band is U2 and they are amazing in conert.

So Norton suffers from Ozzie Cumpulsive Disorder Syndrome. Is there a cure for this heinous disease or do we have to sit back and just listen to him suffer?
