They gotta keep Coward Turd happy by kissing his ass, but if O&A say something, they get beat down because they're not allowed to. They keep putting their best out, and what do they get? Nothing. They don't even get a kiss after getiing raped anally! I hope O&A truly do win in the end. It's about fucking time they get an even break. The refusal to play those fucking promos is a step in the right direction. I want them to remain in the NY market, which they already stated, but, this bullshit with Infinity has got to end! Problem is, they will not be able to go back on the air with someone else for awhile. I don't know how long but Opie said they'd be taking a summer vacation. | O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | Fuck me for being long-winded and writing a post long enough to get me logged out for inactivity, therefore losing IT ALL. Anyhoo, here's a short version. Ikea, are you nuts? I'm speculating, but I'd think there are certain demands that O&A know can't or won't be met, which is why they're making them demands: 1) Morning drive. Stern's contract has a no-compete clause in it. Infinity can't put another shock-jock show against him in the morning, or else it's breach of contract, Howard walks, takes his advertisers with him (thus losing a LOAD of money for Infinity), then sues Infinity for way more than his contract was worth. 2) Lift the gag. The order went from Howie to Mel Karmizan to O&A, so it'd be a rough one for Jeremy and Ken to get lifted. Plus I wouldn't be surprised if Howard had THAT put into his contract too, so you get all the problems from #1. I also wouldn't be shocked if this demand was the deciding factor in O&A's contract process. 3) Syndication. Come on, a bit of restructuring of some stations, and O&A can fit in fine. The bigwigs just don't want to do it for fear of Howie getting cranky and throwing a tantrum. It's sick. And don't forget that Clear Channel just about crushes Infinity in every way... Infinity: 180 stations in 22 states. CC: 1,170 (yes, 6.5 times more) stations, in all 50 states, in 47 of the top 50 markets. Plus 240 international stations. Plus a load of Internet radio stations. Honestly, folks.... if you were O&A here, WHAT WOULD YOU DO? No-brainer, isn't it? Me droogies: Two positions currently available. | ||||

Not only has management already proven where their loyalties lie (noses buried up Stern's ass), but they've proven that they love to go back on things. If they stayed, some way would be found to keep them down... to keep them away from Stern's level. They don't want it anymore. Ant even expressed a desire to go to mornings (if ANTHONY says that he DOESN'T CARE ABOUT WAKING UP EARLY, that sounds to me like he wants a morning job)... They know better. Do you think they're stupid? They know that if they were to go head-to-head, they would take over. Stern did it to Imus - it's a life cycle. He's had his time, and his successors are here.
