O&A...creeping towards SCORCH! ---------------------------------------- Rochester's WCMF Next Affiliate for Infinity's Opie & Anthony Look for the syndicated Opie & Anthony to add WCMF/Rochester to their fast-growing affiliate list. O&A said on-air Thursday (6/5) they would debut on ’CMF next week. Station management had no comment. WCMF owns men in mornings with its locally produced Brother Wease show. 20-year station fixture Dave Kane maintains 'CMF's 25-54 male dominance through middays, but the station drops to fifth in afternoons. Opie & Anthony If they win over Rochester like they did New York City, O&A could extend 'CMF's male stronghold through afternoons. But like WYSP/Philadelphia, 'CMF would enter the fuzzy realm of half-Talk, half-Rock. That predicament appears to be one of the issues Infinity sister WBCN/Boston is grappling with. Under the headline, Opie & Anthony dilemma leaves 'BCN in a bind, this morning's Boston Herald ran a story speculating about where the pair will resurface on the local dial. Writer Dean Johnson's conclusion: "If Opie & Anthony's Boston debut is a key to the overall success of the syndication deal and Infinity's executives decide they don't want ad revenues generated by Opie & Anthony going to another company, then WBCN could be forced to take the show... regardless of what its management team wants to do."
