| hmmm i was thinking about the whole Asbury Pk. debacle and how theyre trying to nail O&A/WNEW to the wall for breaking that retarded NJ "no liquor and nudity" law and came to realize that if they get loud enough about it, it could potentially prevent O&A from having any road shows in Jersey and that would completely suck ass. for arguments sake, lets say it happens, i think it would be cool if they started having road shows right in the city. not only do they not have to worry about NJ nudity laws but its central and accessible for everyone in the tri-state area, just take the NJ transit, LIRR, or drive in. even if the Asbury bullshit goes nowhere i still say roadshows in the city from now on, i think itd keep everyone happy....

| NYC road show? Where would it be? They need a place that could hold 2,000 people and not be cramped

| there are many places that can hold 1,000s. But WNEW would have to have a lot of $ to book a place like the Hammerstien Ballroom.

| Have they ever had a roadshow in CT... i don't think so but i could be wrong. Not enough listeners in CT to have a roadshow there?

| The Webster Hall show was great about a year ago. Between the main floor and the balcony there were a few hundred people and the place was only half full. Probably because it was a LIVE show on a work day. Nothing like hearing Sammi Haggar sing an acoustic set with breasts flashing all over the place.
A much wittier reply came to mind immediately after I clicked the 'Send' button.
A Life? Cool! Where can I download one of those from?
BTW, FWIW, IMHO, AFAIK, yes. OTOH, AAMOF, maybe not. YMMV.

I don't think there are enough places that could hold an O&A crowd...maybe Toad's Place or The Golbe Theatre, but those are about the only ones I can think of...
If they went Manhatten, you've basically got Hammerstein & Roseland...that's it...I don't think dance clubs will be too keen on having the kind of shit that happens at roadshow happening in their club ...
Come back to Vanderbuilt!!!! lol
It's not funny, my ass is on fire....

| For what O&A do you need 5th tier venues.
They don't want to pay massive rent and they need a place happy to have them AND "stay in their offices" during the event....for plausible deniability.........
You don't think they chose the Pony soley for it's great location and atmosphere????

| maybe they should have some roadshows at places where the unemployed faithful like to congregate. parking lots? hess stations? outdoor parks?
it seems there's plenty of jobless listeners, so why the hell not???

| the wreck room in wallington n.j. would be a good location for the next roadshow, although it will prob. fill up fast, its not a bad place. lots of good cover bands play there all the time to lots of people. it's indoors so no outsiders will see anything to complain about. all that nonsense in asbury is bullshit. anyone who was there knows the p.d and the firemen were having just as good a time as we were. it's all about money, whenever something successful goes down and someone didn't make money somewhere in the mix then they will complain, and thats exactly what happened that day. i think the politicians in asbury should worry about all those crack houses i passed on my way in to the stone pony.
