Sorry but i just got winamp for SU purposes but it plays all my mp3s and stuff. Basically i just want winamp to play SU feeds, nothing else. Can anybody let me know what options i need to disapple so that it won't play mp3s just the SU (shoutcast feeds). Thanks

Open WinAmp.
Press Ctrl+P.
Under Setup click on File Types.
Click on Select none.
Move the slider all the way to the bottom and click on m3u, so it is highlighted.
Click on close, and you are finished.

You won't have it associated, by default, to anything but streaming audio.

I've just got to know....what DO you use for MP3's? Windows Media is a systems hog, Winamp has that nifty equalizer.....

I would suggest MusicMatch Jukebox. It sounds great, and doesn't skip when the machine is busy like WinAmp does.

yea i use MusicMatch. It works real good. I don't use winamp cause (i think) you can't just create a list, you have to save it. With Music Match everytime i open it up i can just click whatever 20 songs i want to here and it plays them in a row. I could be wrong but i can't get winamp to do that. Is that right?

If you leave the playlist open, you can just drag and drop the files into the playlist. When you hit play, it will play each song in succession.

i assume the only reason to even have real player is for those Foundrymusic files (which brings me to why the fuck steve puts them in that format) Why the fuck does steve put the videos in that format? Oh and now real player has never worked for me.

I had that problem too, a few years ago when I was running a shitty system. I think you just need to upgrade.

It's a Compaq with a AMD-K6 and 256 mb or ram.
I don't think I'm in that serious need of an upgrade. Maybe soon.

I think the answer to why foundry has got such a hard on for real is that it's performance is much much gooder on macs. and, judging by some of the art work over there... well, you see where this is heading... that's right... foundrymusic sucks big fat glow-in-the-dark jellyfish monkey ass.

hey im back. UticaVin or anybody else; i did what you said with my winamp prefrences but even though mu3 is highlighted, musicmatch still comes up with shoutcast. What do i do know???

You might have to change the file associations in musicmatch. I'm not sure but, just unchecking them in winamp... I don't think that necessarily reassigns the file types. It just removes the association in winamp.

Don't have a copy of musicmatch in front of me but, it's pretty similar to winamp in selecting file assoc. if I remember correctly.

*Edit: or you could reinstall realplayer and it will associate everything with itself by default. But, then again, who really wants to edit text files with realplayer?

**Edit: Oops! I forgot... I'm not answering questions anymore. Boodadude is now everyone's source for all things SU. Good Luck buddy.

Bloody Anus: 534mhz and playback comes through an ESS audio driver, stock sound card.

alxelgr8: Barch (pronounced bark) is right, deselect m3u from the rest of your players. That should solve the problem. If not, open the link in WinAmp. After that, every time you open WinAmp. That will be the only thing it plays, since is not associated with any other file types.

depends what stream your listening to... if it ends in .pls then you need to change your file associations
