Why are you even asking about RealPlayer? 1. The free one doesn’t work very well and neither does the 30 dollar one. Yet another draw back to using RealPlayer…It’s not very ‘polite’ in the grand scheme of computers. It, like most programs associates all of the files it is capable of playing. What does that mean? you ask. Well, I’m gonna tell ya…It means that from the point when you first install the program until you figure out how to shut it off. ALL, and I mean every last one, of the audio and video files on you computer now or that you may add later WILL be played with RealPlayer. Hope you really like the RealPlayer interface…you’re gonna be seeing a lot of it. This function can be disabled. It’s not very easy to find the ‘switch’ though. Much like the free version on their website…they’ve hidden it in the last place anyone would look. The only attractive thing about RealPlayer is it’s popularity. There are a lot of recordings available in real media format. This, I suspect, is because Real provides a FREE ripper/recorder for audio and video files. It’s not a very good one…but, it’s FREE and it’s easy to use. This doesn’t necessarily mean you have to use RealPlayer to view or listen to files created with it…You can theoretically listen to real audio files with another player. You just need to find a ‘CoDec’ (short hand computer geek for Coder Decoder). And, the answer is no. I don’t have one and I don’t know where to get one. (If anyone does know please tell me) I hope this clears things up for ya… Oh, and by the way…did I mention? The reason I brought this up isn't SU, it is actually of Mike and the Mad Dog. Becasue I missed their show the day McMahon was on, I wanted to catch it on the internet replay. | Hanger-On Registered: Mar. 01 | Cranky Ass- You probably just have to reconfigure Winamp. A nice thing about Real is that it configures itself. The fact that you're using RealPlayer doesn't mean that the stream you're listening to is Real encoded, necessarily. Most SU streams are encoded in Windows Media format. To configure Winamp, Go to Options -> Preferences -> Setup, and select "Using LAN Internet connection" under Internet settings. Then enter your firewall address and port in the HTTP proxy box at the bottom. It's that easy.  Syndication soon! Let's go Rangers West Coast Dave | ||||
