Psychopath Registered: Oct. 00 | Down for most of the day, but I'm back up now. A reboot and restarting the server fixed it. Sorry guys! FYI, i'm running 32kbps - this to high of a data rate (it's stereo)? I could go to 16kbps or up to 56k. Doesn't matter to me. Feed me! O&A Board Veteran Registered: Jul. 00 | Speed really isn't a problem for me as I mostly listen at work and have a DSL connection. But, with the recent shortage of feeds... Can ya'll believe that?..we think 3 is a shortage...we are so spoiled. Anyway, it is "Talk Radio". It's not like there's a tremendous difference between mono and stereo when it comes to two tools talkin' about the Olsen twins...sure occasionally they play with the "high-tech" 3D stereo effects...but they seem to have worked the "echo" out of their systems... I think there's a point here somewhere...Oh yeah...keep it at 32kbps or slower so all the poor folks with dial-up modems can listen when the other 2 feeds go down. Just felt it was time for barch to step up and sound off with the ‘voice of reason’...any comments or criticisms will be promptly discarded. Long Live the "Syndication Underground"

O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | LMAO one. BTW, I like the return of the classic sig. Anyway, I actually agree with Barch. I'm on a dial-up. Some days I have better luck than others, but I am often dropping out after a minute with the Red Camaro. E-Mail Me |//Long Live Syndication Underground\\

Hanger-On Registered: Mar. 01 | Here's the deal with Live365. They can and will monitor, shut down, and/or decrease the user limits of your stream, especially if it's got a URL anywhere in the user profile or stream profile. They're trying to be legitimate and legal regarding the streams they broadcast. If they catch you broadcasting copyrighted stuff, or stuff that doesn't comply with their standards, they'll remove your user name from the search lists, and decrease your user limit to 2 or 3. This way, it falls under "personal use". This has happened to me several times before with a number of non O&A playlists I've tried to stream. These tips will help you prolong the life of your stream: 1) Make your playlist name something inaccurate, like "West Coast Dave Radio - Streaming techno, house, trance, downtempo, and hip hop". 2) Don't put URLs of any kind anywhere in your descriptions. 3) Don't leave a live feed up 24/7. 4) Don't post the name of the stream here, only the IP. 5) If your stream is found and shut down or limited, make sure your new account and stream does not resemble any of the previous ones in any way. This will probably not prevent Live365 from eventually finding your stream anyway and shutting it down, but it will prolong the life of it. The other option is Shoutcast. The one downside that Shoutcast has is that you'll be using the bandwidth from your machine to accomodate all potential users. Instead of having one stream directed to Live365, which relays it, you'll be doing all the streaming for all the users yourself. You may or may not know all this, but just some tips. Thanks for streaming. You guys are doing us all a huge favor. I moved to Oakland a year ago, and have missed the guys ever since. Later. Hanger-On Registered: Mar. 01 | Right click on this link and select "Save Target As" to save the audio stream itself. http://166.90.143.148:16180 If you want to save the audio show on your PC, you'll probably need a PC radio card and some mp3 encoding software. It's not very complex. Let's go Rangers! (West Coast Dave) This message was edited by West Coast Dave on 3-6-01 @ 5:30 PM
