| O&A Board Regular Registered: Aug. 01  | apparently, i dont "leave my room" enough (at all). and i spend too much time "playing videogames". so now i have to do some sort of "extra caricular activities" and limit the amount of time i spend "lounging around the house". "its not healthy...you need to socialize"...im at school for 7 hours "socializing" and you want me to spend more time there...fuck off im not bothering you. what do you care if i dont enjoy being around people more than i have to. and 4 hours gaming time per day is not that much. | O&A Board Veteran Registered: Jul. 00 | I realize that this is gonna make me sound like an old tool but, it's no picnic from the parent side either. I obviously know nothing more than what you have posted here about your particular situation but, at least they care enough about you to notice that you're spending a lot of time alone. Or, a lot of time out. Or, too much time playing video games. There are plenty of parents that don't notice at all. And, the parents perspective... well, it's almost impossible to explain but, you'll understand it someday when you are one. What did the parents of the shooters in colorado do wrong? How bout the parents of the girl that dumped her newborn in the garbage at the prom? The shootings this week in NY? Yeah, these incedents are very much the exception and not the rule but, what if their parents paid a little more attention to what was going on in their children's lives? Maybe wouldn't have changed a thing... But, maybe it would have... *Edit: sorry, that sentence was really bothering me. Though, I do spend a lot of time on my ass, I constantly hear "well, you were out all night last night, what the hell are you going to do tonight" I hate my anti social family. Things are getting better though. Hope they will for you too.
