| Psychopath Registered: Jan. 01 | ok i am sorry for contributing to a post about howard stern on the OPIE AND ANTHONY message board, and ill make sure this is my last howard post because it just doesnt belong here...... but here goes: this is just my opinion but the truth is i feel that howard is still funny. this is the first time hearing that jackie left the show and frankly i am not suprised. he is out for self and he has always been..... i guess i have to say that hes no different than billy west who pulled a similar thing when he quit the show several years ago. in my opinion jackie is probably the least funny.... especially when he speaks. maybe his writing is funny, but they never say "oh jackie wrote that" so i wouldnt know. i did listen this morning and i never even knew that jackie was gone.... as far as howard not being as funny as he was in the past, well the most obvious thing that proves that is that when he goes to "best-of" they play bits that are more than 5 years old. i havent heard a bit from within the past year or even the past 2 years because i believe they know there isnt anything worth playing... at least opie and anthony have funny shit every single day that they can play the for days on end and still keep people laughing their asses off. when howard signed his most recent contract CNBC reported that is was for about $18 million. i know people in the industry and they tell me that he gets a percentage of the ad revenue too which would explain why the fuck takes more commercial breaks than he spends actually making a show. its like the howard stern show is a 5 hour commercial break sometimes. i have been a stern fan for over 10 years (im 28) and i hate that all he seems to care about is the money but hey if i was making $18 million balls a year i probably wouldnt be funny either..... hes got his production company and his tv ventures.... as soon as this next 5 years goes i guess those of us who still listen to stern will either keep listeing or else burn out and listen to the radio chick. i know this is a long post but ill say this one last thing..... the mornign drive needs new blood .... yes i am a true die hard stern fan but i am also a die hard opie and anthony fan... i truly believe that if howard didnt have a non-compete clause in his contract and if they were to put opie and anthony on the air agains howard that they would BLOW HIM AWAY. there is no doubt in my mind..... ok thats my opinion.... sorry to the mods for posting about howard but i have been seeing a lot of "howard-type" posts so i felt compelled to do it.  Professor OPAK gave me an A+ and allowed me to graduate the opieanthony.com University Thanks big brother. This is better than graduating from IONA College (Yes I really did go there) | ||||
