| O&A Board Veteran Registered: May. 00  | so today im in the local mall, newport centre for those in the hudson county area and as you walk in they have various vending machines for your snacking enjoyment. so i browse by them and i had to doubletake. tucked in there right next to the pepsi and m&m vending machine was a nokia phone machine. i shit you not. for the low price of $59.99 you can have a phone, battery pack and minutes. all you have to do is swipe your credit card in the machine, press the appropriate button, which were like regular soda vending machine buttons, and voila, you are the proud owner of a celular phone. now who the fuck would buy a cell phone without checking it out first, handling it and haggling over the price is beyond me, but just wanted to let people know its out there for the purchasing. In Bangkok for example, there are people sitting out side of train stations who work for the major cell phone provider who have little computers set up to create accounts, download things onto cellphones, etc.  I'm still saved.... When I asked the cashier why wouldn't they just be on a shelf she said they sell more when they are in a machine because people can just walk in, buy it and leave without having someone ring it up.
