O&A Board Veteran Registered: Jan. 01 | There have been over 350 reported in the last week alone this is one that I have found PARMA, Ohio (Reuters) - A 29-year-old man smashed his car through the entrance of a mosque early on Monday, police said, in another assault on Muslims in the United States apparently linked to last week's deadly hijack attacks. Police said Eric Richley of Middleburg Heights, Ohio, hurtled his car at 80 mph through the front of the center shortly after midnight, landing on top of a fountain inside the unoccupied mosque. Richley was taken to a hospital, where his condition was not immediately disclosed. A spokesman for the Islamic Center of Greater Cleveland, which sustained more than $100,000 in damages, said it had received numerous threats and had added extra security since last week's deadly attacks on New York and Washington. U.S. investigators say Saudi-born militant Osama bin Laden and radical cells associated with him are prime suspects in the attacks. Parma is an ethnically diverse community of 87,000 located just south of Cleveland. The weekend shooting deaths of a Pakistani grocer in Dallas and a Sikh employee of a Mesa, Arizona, gas station were being investigated as hate crimes by the FBI. Three mosques in Dallas have been hit by bullets and homemade firebombs, and several telephoned threats have been received by Muslim sites and schools. O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | I have not commented on this board really since last tuesday because I had no idea what to say. I have been in shock for the past week.. but i feel like I need to reply to this.. By driving a car into a Muslim Mosque , that is accomplishing nothing at all.. These are not the people that we are after.. The people who used that mosque in ohio did nothing to the world trade center or the pentagon or anything else.. Someone just destroyed a place of worship for hundreds of people.. What that person did, is destroy more property on U.S. soil.. THe same thing goes for the gas station attendant that was killed. He was simply minding his business trying to do his job, as he was probably looking over his shoulder the entire time becuase of his ethnicity.. What is becoming is exactly what the terrorists want .... We are retaliating against people and properties in our own country.. This is not going to fix anything.. The only people who need to get attacked is the people directly responsible for the attacks and those who are harboring evidence or terrorists.. If that gas station attendant was a terrorist or if that muslim mosque was a headquarters or bunker for terrorists, then yes, attack might have been necessary.. but then it should have been the armed forces to do it the right way.. not some guy going 80 mph into the front of the building. E-Mail Me special thanks to maynard and grumpy for the sig pic and the help posting it

The Muslim religion does not teach or breed violence or hatred, it is people who corrupt religion and twist it that teach hate and violence. quote: He was saying hes not surprised that this happened because Muslims are not the only jackasses in the world...hence they don't have a monopoly. O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | Here's a disturbing story - Newsday, Sunday 16 After the destruction of the World Trade Center, motorists stopped lining up at the USA Gas station in Lindenhurst. They drove past instead, cursing at its dark-skinned owner, Zafar Jat, who cut down his hours and complained to Suffolk police. Then yesterday morning, Jat, who told police he is Pakistani-American, said three armed men burst into his convenience store, held him at gunpoint and set the place on fire before he escaped without injury. But within hours, it was Jat who left the gas station in handcuffs. Police said he had confessed to doucing the store with gasoline and starting the 6:20 a.m. blaze himself

O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | In all honesty, I was very upset at the begining of this. I wasn't going to use the services of any Arab based stores in the area for fear of putting 1 dime in the hands of the scumbags who did this. The more I hear though, the more I realize how little I really know about the Muslim religion. I would love to have a few sitdowns, and thoughI am not religious, to talk with a number of Muslims and learn what they really do believe. I think many of us could benefit from this type of information. Although I have not actually acted rude or held on to these initial bad thoughts I had, I still feel I need to apologize to anybody who could have been hurt by the sentiments. If you burn the flag of my country, I'll exercise my freedom of expression to adjust your attitude!

It has happened throughout history and it's the people who are from that religion/ethnic group that wind up paying the price. We have the African-Americans (Civil War), Japanese-Americans and Jews (WWII) to name a few. I'm not going to preach about how people should and shouldn't act. I will say that it would be nice if people....AMERICANS would put aside the differences that we may have and UNITE in the common cause of bringing justice. This travesty was not only a crime against Americans, but a crime against humanity.

Psychopath Registered: Aug. 01 | I wish the few dumb-ass Americans, who think that it is a good idea to hurt other Americans, would get a clue. Fly your flags, support your country, prepare to exact revenge on the people who were involved in the attack, and let other Americans and patriotic residents join in without prejudice. As an American Serviceman, I serve with people of all religions, colors, beliefs, ethnic backgrounds, accents, etc. Hell, some of them are not even American citizens. Yep, that's right, you don't have to be a citizen to be in the military, only a permanent resident, but they all serve proudly and faithfully. When I was in the Persian Gulf, one of the servicemen who worked for me was a Muslim. I spent a lot of time talking to him about his religion, and it was a real eye-opener. People, Islam is a beautiful religion, and it's beliefs are not so far away from what Christians or Jews believe. The terrorists are idiots who believe that their religion has given them some sort of right to kill people who don't agree with them. The coming conflict should not be considered a war against Muslims or Arabs. It will be a war against the people who caused or supported the terrorist attacks, no matter where they are from. I say we kill all the fucks that were even remotely involved with this......no matter what their religion or ethnic background, but it's pointless to waste energy trying to annihilate a total religion, or a total people. It's also such a tragedy to focus the blame on other Americans. I also cannot even begin to understand why people are focusing hate on Indians (as in India). They are not Arabs, they are not Muslims, there is no large history of Indian terrorism in the US. I think some morons are just looking for "brown" people to blame. Hey, dumb-asses, knock it off. Find the right enemy...

I am not Muslim, but I am taking Middle Eastern history this semester (how odd is that?) and from what I've learned about the Muslim religion, they do not teach violence or hate, although they do have provisions for jihads but terrorism is not in that category.
