| Psychopath Registered: Oct. 00  | I, like I suspect most Americans, knew almost nothing about Bin Laden and the Taliban before September the 11th so I decided to do a little research. I couldn't imagine what kind of monsters would murder the innocent so capriciously. After reading these articles, I put nothing pass these scumbags. | Psychopath Registered: May. 01 | I know this is long, but I felt I had to contribute to this thread. The following is a synopsis of an article from the September issue of Glamour magazine. The article, about "honor violence" was about a woman in Pakistan whose husband suspected that she was having an affair. On the night of December 20, 1998, her husband woke her up and ordered her into the common room of their 3-room home. She saw a rope hanging from the rafters. Her husband ordered her to lock the bedroom door, but she refused worrying that her children might wake up and call for her. Her husband told her, "The kids are dead to you. You are no longer their mother." He then accused her of having an affair. She insisted that she had never been unfaithful to him, but he didn't listen. He gagged her, bound her feet and hands and hung her upside down from the ceiling. As he beat her with a wood ax handle, blood began to drip from her arms and legs. Then her husband, a barber by profession, traded his ax for a razor. He cut off the lower lobes of her ears, then sliced her nose off at the base. He tried to cut out her tongue but she kept wiggling it so he couldn't get a firm hold. She remained conscious the whole time. He then used a metal rod to poke out her eyes and then put his finger inside each eye socket to make sure nothing was left. When he was done mutilating her, he cut the rope and she fell to the floor like a limp rag doll. He took their daughter and left the wife for dead. A neighbor later found her. Someone heard her story and she ended up in the United States. She has since had several years of plastic and reconstructive surgery, together with prosthetics which make her appear somewhat normal. She's back in her village now and plans to serve her husband with divorce papers. He was never arrested and has sent her notes looking to reconcile. When I read this article, I wanted to throw up. The accompanying pictures were absolutely horrifying. I can't imagine living in a situation like that…let alone living THROUGH something like that and having the courage to go on. These are the sick, twisted people we are dealing with.  | ||||
