I have always used a razor and have never even tried an electric, probably because I'm afraid that it'll make my face look like it belongs on Star Trek. | Hanger-On Registered: Jan. 70 | beard trimmer or clippers, my skin is too sensitive for razors. I break out in nasty razor bumps if I shave with a razor. I've tried every solution known to man, but always gone back to the trusty beard trimmer. For special occasions, I will shave with a razor to get a good shave though.

| Psychopath Registered: Jun. 01 | I use an electric. I'd never go back to a blade unless I had to. For those of you with ruff beards that grow in different directions, you will get a better shave with an electric. Get one that can be used with water and shaving cream. You will have to use it for about 30 days before it will start to feel comfortable. It takes a while to get your beard "trained". Instead of growing in whatever direction, it will grow straight out. I use a Panasonic Linear Wet Shaver. One of the best Christmas gifts I have ever received. DasDoomper  | ||||

I have maintained some kind of facial hair for the bulk of my adult life, using a Norelco Beard trimmer for my goatee and sideburns... and I've recently become a fan of the Schick extreme triple blade razor for everything else. Just a tip for those of you that have sensitive skin, shave AFTER you shower... that way the hair is softened, your skin is all lubed up, and it helps glide over your skin that much easier. I've found that I'm less likely to get cuts and nicks if I shave after I shower. yes, there is stubble to rinse away afterwards, however I'd rather deal with that for a second or two than have razor burn all day long. Try it... it works.

| O&A Board Regular Registered: Feb. 01 | Electric, i got it for christmas a few years ago before i even needed it. Best present ive gotten. The only problem i have with it is that it heats up and burns me when im shaving the hairs below my jaw line. But other wise i get a nice clean shave.
